I play Eve and have a small corp. Dont know if that matters. Any tips or stuff I should be doing from the get go would be appreciated. HMG seems like my style so any pointers for that would help as well.

Going by the few things youve said it seems to mirror Eve quite a bit with Caldari and shields etc. Thanks for the help. Will me having a corp in Eve help me at all? |

Having a corp in Eve is like running a guild in Wow. It entitles you to nothing here.
Though... if your eve side guys are good in a fight, you could be a real asset to a dust corp for orbitals and whatnot. Ill Omens is at war and could use some Eve help...
Wondered if I could give my dust player some isk? |

DUST Fiend wrote:First and foremost, go to the Marketplace and select the Militia Gear tab on the left side of the screen. Everything that can be bought there can be used on day one, and is dirt dirt cheap. It's the crappiest of the crap gear, but you can still get reasonable scores if you know what you're doing in FPS.
You won't be able to start the game off with that HMG, but you can get yourself a Militia Amarr heavy suit with a Militia Assault rifle in the time being. Since you have no equipment slots, you'll need to keep an eye out in match for Supply depots and friendly (blue) nano hives (sits on the ground, produces a sphere of ammo regeneration), in order to keep up on ammo. Slap a militia SMG in your sidearm slot, then round it out with Militia Grenades, a Militia Shield Recharger, and a Militia Armor Repairer.
So, you want to go to:
Market > Marketplace > Militia Gear
Purchase 25 of each, then go all the way back and click on Fitting > Dropsuit Fitting > CREATE NEW
Once that's done, go directly into the Battle Academy going to Battle > Battle Finder > Instant Battle.
Eventually as you perform better, you'll graduate from the academy into standard matches, basically you'll start fighting vets after a point. You can also try to squad up with others who aren't in the academy in order to skip it, but that's your call.
Fight 5 matches. Don't look at your menus, don't buy anything unless you have to restock your suit, which can be done from the fittings tab.
Once you've done that, go to Character > Skills
From here you can either figure it out, or post a reply once you've done the above and I'll try to walk you through more.
Thanks you that was a good breakdown. Props. |

Sontie wrote:Also, for the first week at least, play an alt while keeping passive sp on your main. You're going to die a LOT, and getting your k/dr back up after you learn to play can take a long time :(
Sorry but how do you do that exactly?

There is no integration between economies in Eve and Dust right now. I wouldn't expect it to be implemented for some months yet.
Awesome thanks for all your help.

PFB I remember you guys from the Mag days. thanks for the tip/ |

Master Jaraiya wrote:I recommend speccing into shield upgrades and armor upgrades as fast as possible no matter what class you wish to run.
For a heavy It depends if you want to shield tank or armor tank (or both) before you decide where to take your skill tree from there. I must say with Amarr being the only Heavy suit shield tanking on a heavy is not very viable because it only has a maximum of 2 high slots.
That said I would recommend working on armor plating and armor repair next.
i would recommend shield regulator and shield extender as your next step.
It is a good Idea to build these skills up together.
HMG takes a significant amount of SP to be able to use and there is no MLT variant. You must have weaponry lvl 5 and HMG Operation lvl 1. Considering this you may wish to stick with the forge gun until you can save the SP for HMG.
you definitely want to have grenadier at least to lvl 1 possibly 2 if you want to go Heavy AV.
Choose a sidearm. I use the SMG, although it costs more SP than the Scrambler Pistol. The scrambler pistol is also a great weapon, but requires a significant amount of skill to make it viable. I used the Pistol in the last build and it was awesome, but decided to go for a change of pace and switched to the SMG after uprising.
That's all I can think of for now, feel free to ask me any questions you may have.
Thanks alot appreciate the help.

Great so since I dont know anyone, this is going to be painful... I'll look you up in game after the downtime. For your first 10k WP you will be in the Academy (noob battles) unless you squad up. If you want I can put you in a squad and you can see what its like to run with the bigger dawgz.
Ya sounds good. I will battle it out with nubs and then get a tour of the real game when Im used to it since I havent even touched a PS3 controller since MAG so it might take me a bit to get decent at it. Thanks though I will be on here for often so I look forward to it.
