Is there an advantage to going Gallente rather than Minmitar?
I know that at PROTO levels all these things balance out more, but is it really really bad to go Gallente until proto?
The numbers I'm seeing are,
Power grid, CPU, Shield HP and armor are consistent across the board. (Gallente get 30 more HP on armor at all levels and the Minmitar move faster and have more HP/s shield gain at all levels.)
The confusing part is the slot distribution
Minmitar listed first, then Gallente
T1: 2/2/3 vs. 0/2/3 Simply 2 less slots, otherwise same suit. Why?
T2: 3/3/3 vs. 2/3/3 Again, same suit minus 1 slot. Why?
T3: 4/4/4 vs. 3/5/4 Now for proto it balances with Minmitar working out to be a versatile hacking master, and the gallente able to equip his infantry gear with less issue in the PG/CPU department.
So I really have 3 questions. 1: Why is the gallente suit the same as the minmitar with simply less slots (or did I miss something)? 2: Is there any reason to go gallente unless you're simply looking long term proto gear? 3: Is the Gallente suit bonus meaningful? How much difference does it make to have that 25% lower PG/CPU for equipment? How does that compare to the 25% hacking bonus?
Thank you so much for answering in advance, I really am just seeking info. |

The gallente racial bonus is 5% decrease in pg/cpu of equipment per level
That means you can equip almost all prototype equipment and items on your suit because of the lower slot count.
I run minmatar because of the versatality, and the hacking bonus. gallente should have the same number of slots as minmatar, but balanced properly.
standard: 1 high, 3 low advanced: 2 high, 4 low proto: 3 high, 5 low.
this would make the most sense and progresses well with the other variants |

I run the Gallente logi and on my advanced suit I have used up all available cpu and power with 3x complex armors, proto repair, advanced hive and adv injecter plus advanced weapon. Without 25% racial bonus to cpu/pg I would not have been able to have this build with my current core skills.
Do not look too much on that stats alone, also consider to select the race that suits you the best, Gallente and the Minmatar are good friends by the way. The small differences in stats wont make a huge difference, better choose something you will enjoy playing and will continue to play for a long time. Take what race you like the most both from the description of each and their looks and I am positively sure you will enjoy it much more and try to compensate the weaknesses with its racial strengths.

When more CPU/PG extensive EWAR modules come out you'll be glad you went Gallente.

A further balancing in the increase of advantage between the militia, advanced, and proto levels should be a little flatter. A clear increase to be sure, but a measured increase in utility. The proto is a sudden jump for the caldari, amarr and the Gallente. The minmatar is equally balanced at every stage. I doubt it will change but it does led creedance to "either militia or proto" |

Their passive sucks to begin with in my opinion. The proto-level suit is pretty nice though. |
