Untill then ill settle for ammo and grenades.

It's probably half DUST's funky explosion mechanics and half the exaggerated explosion effect on standard tier grenades. Sometimes the explosions glitch out and won't affect someone unless they are literally right on top of it. The explosion visual effect is static and doesn't change between different tiers. Higher-tier flux grenades are more in line with the visual. Personally, I use standard flux grenades and I haven't hit any major snags yet.

Terrain glitch is still an issue. If you hit a target that has even a pixel of elevation or incline with splash damage, it won't register. Happens to all splash damage weapons and turrets.

Even the most notorious nano nade spam spots usually turn out to be pretty fun engagments because one group or the other breaks the stalemate eventually and the mayhem tends to be great fun.

First, spend a few matches coming up with counters. After all you counters get defeated to the same tactic, then start a civil discussion to find out how others deal with tactic. Then, if NOTHING ELSE WORKS, come on the forum crying for a nerf.

Today to see how "bad" HAVs are, I tested out the worst chassy, the militia for breakability, and fooled around with the fragmentation large missile launcher... I've replaced 4 militia HAVs for the entire day of playing. With a brain for driving (and knowing what places to not drive through) and constant eyes on the sensor grid, there is an easy time blowing away people who love their nanohives. One salvo clears the hive and wakes up the campers, AV grenades have a relatively shot range so drive accordingly when considering potential cover. AV grenades eat away lifespans of nanohives so I don't think it is much of a problem... Now the Supply Depots that last forever, those can be a real pain, but those are obvious and static. shrugs Even when I was mudmarching on foot a well-tossed return grenade blew out a camper, his nanohive, and shocked the other two buddies of his when I encountered this silliness. I don't see the problem to be enough to warrant taking away the grenade replenishment entirely.

They should have to drive through nanohives.

BF3 handled this exact same complaint over a year ago, in a fairly elegant manner: ammo packs (nanohives in our case), resupply explosive at a much slower rate than they do ammunition making it difficult to spam RPGs, M320s and grenades.

Dropping a hive to take out a Vehicle = valid tactic like Dropping a vehicle to take out infantry = valid tactic
