I'm hacking a CRU and a red spawns behind me. I am totally oblivious and get killed. QQ i died, should have had a blue defending me.
My proposal is that the small circle on our mini map show all enemies in that area. This would work for all suits except the heavy. Fatties shouldn't have to hack anyway. Also can we get some sound of someone spawning in?? You can't tell me that spawning and materializing out of thin air is a silent event. Actually if we had an obvious sound we would hear if you were in that small circle range and would have a one second head start on the spawner I would be okay with not changing when the red dots POP.
I think both would be better though. People make noise, footsteps so your telling me we don't have sound sensors on these suits to pick up nearby noise?? Opinions?? Flame away! |

You must be new here. Try getting headphones of good quality. I can hear scouts walking on mine. |

Showing everyone within your radar range is a bit much but there really should be more to picking up someone's profile.
Within a certain short range you should show up no matter what suit you're wearing and no matter what direction someone is coming from. You don't need to broadcast people's positions but if there's someone 5 feet behind me it would be nice to have the slightest clue before I'm dead.
You would imagine at some point in designing dropsuits one of the engineers would have seen the flaw in having all the sensors being monodirectional.
Really wish they'd put some more time into developing the profile/radar system so things like stealth/sprinting and weapons fire would actually mean something.

Sure throw it in as long as theres skills to reduce the sounds. Im sure my dampeners would still make my suit scout suit "noiseless" if it was implemented

I'm not arguing for the whole mini map, just that ~10% small circle just outside your marker.

Get your scanning skills up, and use a Precision Enhancer and/or Range Amplifier. The only things that won't show up are extremely dampened scouts, and people who are still spawn-cloaked. Both cases as it should be.
This is also why a Scout with Precision Enhancers and Range Amplifiers are a major asset to any team. Scan Intel is shared among the whole team via the TacNet, so anything that Scout picks up, you see aswell. Further to this, an Active Scanner will increase what is picked up, when used.
Btw, Passive Scanning is not Monodirectional. The reason someone shows up when *seen* in those cases is because you/someone on your team is seeing them visually, and they are reported via TacNet this way aswell. This is why it seems Passive range is increased in a certain direction, while this is not the case. |
