Tanks were being used as the endgame for selfish solo players who wanted to be the 'complete package' without bothering with all of that annoying teamwork stuff (because why work with others who are clearly not as good as you! (they shouted from inside their tanks!))
Now they're where they should be. A single part of an effective force, that can't just be deployed in every situation regardless of context. A lot of people didn't take well to that, but luckily after two solid weeks of allcaps bitching they decided to give something else a try and might even be having a pretty good time instead of shooting blood out their eye every time they get gangbanged by swarms. |

What's COD? Is it like ARMA? Man, if you like tanks in Dust you should try ARMA! They're like real tanks and as a result totally impossible to beat! |

Forge guy is exactly one person, tank driver is exactly one person. You've both shot your full skill load into your chosen field.
The tank, left to its own devices, will shred up the battlefield with impunity. The forge gunner, at best, can perform a few skilful instagibs and is done if anyone competent gets near him while he's without backup, just as you're done if your team isn't working with you to keep the field clear of guys like that. The ISK cost reflects the difference in overall kill capability, the difference between their 4/6 k/d and your 30/2.
You skilled into tank to own the match. They skilled into heavy/forge to kill you. Everyone has to fear something, because that's the definition of balance. |
