I'm only read stuff on this forum before game "released", becouse I liked this game But now...
First time I launched Dust514 I was like: "WTF is this junk?" - and remove it from my HDD immediately. It was early closed beta. I thought that it's too easy becouse "I'm and enemy do not die from one hit". I quit it and continue playing BF3 in "hardcore".
But after week or so, I gave this game another chance and force myself to play it for five hours straight. In this game "feel of yourself" was extreme! First, controls - they were near perfectness. Second, death - it wasn't a "ok, I'm dead, respawn!" it was like "WTF man, it cost me like 250K ISK, you are dead now. I'll find you and you'll be DEAD!!!". It was interesting and really fun! Third, you felt that you are some sort of dude with 1 hp, which hides from bullets, plasma and rockets in dropsuit - weapons deals less damage, so you saw how your shields and armor going away. It really feels like you in hightech nano-uber-war-suit, and not in your civil clothes.
Then, CCP "balanced" dropsuits and weapons... You became dude that dies from 2 bullets and kills everyone with same amount of ammo. Battles became fast and booooooring. Proto-suit guys wasn't scary anymore. Proto-guns guys became like 10% better then the noobies ones... I said OK, and start plaing this "BF3 with pay-to-respawn and nice controls".
Then, CCP decide that everything is cost too much, and "balanced" the prices. Now you get more isk in any way, and no chance to lose everything in 1 battle. And Dust became a BF3 with nice controls - I mean controls was easy but you felt your character. I sayed OK again, I will play it, becouse I hope that with release game will returned to it's origins...
Then was release of Dust. CCP returned nothing. Only add stuff, and "balanced" stuff. This time on the way of "Total Balancination" was controls. They decide for no reason "fix" what wasn't broken at all - sensitivity of controller. Now you OR shoot guys that far away from you and do nothing to those who near you, OR shoot guys that near you, and do nothing to faraway-ones... And I have a strange input lag which appears only in the moments when I'm aiming in the enemy... For me Dust became a EVE-stylized bad cope of BF3 with bad controls... And with lags...
And I'm wasn't add in this list ability to use KB/M against controllers, becouse they really tries to do something good with this. Someday they will, I hope. I'll happy to hear words like "Hey guys, no KB/M from now!" from CCP, but this will not happen.
So, CCP, I really liked your game in closed beta and open beta before Uprising. Yes, now it looks better and sounds better, and there is lot more players, but... What about uniqueness of your project? Where it is? For now, only one unique thing left in the game from the beginning. And this thing is lags.
This Q only about gameplay inside one battle. For now, only social part of Dust is keeping me from quitting from this game, but this part isn't feeling itself well too.
P.S.: Sorry for my english. |

The social part of the game began to fall apart because of the lag and the abundance of small but annoying bugs. What do you think about this? Maybe I request an account reset and demand my money back? |

Bugs abound, too. Occupational hazards for galactic mercenaries include getting stuck on scenery or wedged in terrain and at one point, while climbing across the roof of a building, I found myself suddenly and very rapidly trembling on the spot, oscillating up and down as if shivering from the cold. |

And what do you guys think about battle system. Are you enjoing when you die from 3 TAR's bullets when you in noob's suit and from 5 Tar's bullets when you in proto one? Is it OK to you when Heavy Machine Gun fires 50 metres and deals less damage then AR in 70 meters? Is it feels good? Are you feel yourself like you're in a battle dropsuit from the future? Is it fun when little noob's didn't blow up after it met 1 proto AV granade? Heh... I'm a Sad Pinkie after release of Dust 514. |

I've stopped using the TAR because it's too good, if that makes sense. It's simply not as much fun if I can kill literally everything with ease. I feel sorry for the heavies, and death taxis depress me. |

Arkena Wyrnspire, nice to hear that I'm not the only one who refused to use the TAR. Now I'm running almost in noob gear - Dren's dropsuit and AR - the difference between the starting equipment and prototype now is so small...
Delirium Inferno, yeah, I know and already flagged this topic to GMs. I hope they move it to the right forum, and do not delete it... |

I respect you for that. Have you tried doing that with the 'Dren' scout? It's actually kind of fun, and BPO stuff makes me happy. |

The idea of prototypes being something extremely feared but extremely valuable is definitely something CCP lost it's focus on throughout the beta. It could of been this awesome case of risk-versus-rewards where you only pull out the prototype suits on special occasions, even within PC matches. But CCP fell to the mindset of most gamers of wanting to upgrade their character to make him better and never look back. To do that, suits the prototype suits needed to be more affordable and more balanced to regular suits. Now we got a case of people getting to prototype suits and from their on out never using anything but prototype suits.
I would love if CCP could make the prototype suits a lot more powerful but a lot more expensive to really make you consider the risk-reward in respect to ISK. So much so that even the richer corps out there would want to balance when to use standard or advanced suits and when to pull out the prototypes. Though I feel with where we are at now there is no turning back. I suppose they could do something with Level 4 and 5 of dropsuit command and give us different suits that are even MORE powerful than prototype suits. Super powerful, but super expensive. |

While your feedback is nice Stan and shows passion players have for this game, CCP rather likes their data when deciding how to push things forward. |

As for the weapons in lore The current tech we are all using is pretty brand new or reworked to be effective against us. For example personal shielding is not used anywhere else because of the radiation hazard it poses to normal people.
Most of the weapons we use would 'shred' civies to bits.
Take the SMG bullet for example, pretty nasty warhead made of titanium that reacts extremely bad to oxygen once the protective coating is stripped away. A standard BB of Trit hitting your toe would take your leg off.
So there is only so much our shields and armor can handle from other mercenaires.
As for oumph, and feel they need working on. |

As for oumph, and feel they need working on. I mean, that to me it is not logical when the militia weapon does stupendous damage to prototype dropsuit, whatever form of damage it deals. In my humble opinion, even a difference between the militias equipment and the equipment that need any skill in 1, should be very noticeable. But this difference must cost very noticeable price. Both in SP and ISK. What is the point of a prototype dropsuit, which can't save its owner from 30 plasma shots fired from militia AR?
All equipment for now pretty much the same. We do not feel badass with any of it, and we not afraid of owners of any of it.
Dust now is like experiment: "Will controller users quit if we add lots of lags and KB/M players against them in EVE-stylized BF3?". |

Two months have passed, and what we see? Has the situation changed? Nope! Not at all! Power of weapons still increasing, the characteristics of dropsuits still getting worse. Oh, yeah, and KB/M is still here. Planetside 2 now is a lot better then this non-stop beta test. See ya all there when PS4 will come out. |

Pulled back from the grave eh?
Yes, the game was much more interesting back when there was more risk involved Yes, the game was different and fun and exciting Yes, the game really has changed to be another FPS clone
But it has also changed for the better.
CCP likes to oversteer when they balance their game. It's like when you're driving on ice and have to turn the wheel back the other way to balance it out...except that CCP always turns it too far and spins the car out of control again which requires yet another correction.
The thing is, the initial problem was fixed, they just created another, smaller problem. Once that's fixed, another problem will arise.
Right now the next big fix is to dropsuits and skills. Armor and Shields are currently being balanced, and some skills are being changed to better reflect suits that use them more. After that, they will make adjustments to vehicle armor and shields.
And then another weapon will become OP, or some dropsuit will be able to fit too much armor and the cycle will continue. |

If CCP someday will nerf ALL weapons and increase cost of EVERY item - this will be the day when I'll return into this game. |
