Ok,
So you control a district BUT all the buildings and defences deployed in the district are set neutral at the get go.
My idea/suggestion would be that they are already set as the defenders because what kind of army would hold an area and shut down all its defences/resources?
Unless there is some sort of back story or something that covers the rendering of them neutral at the start of a fight?
Maybe you could train a skill or have something you purchase that you can strike an area with before deploying to make them neutral.
Any opinions on this?

I have to agree with this sentiment. Back in Chromosome you could see friendly installations being deployed in Skirmish matches from orbit (like in OMS). They don't do that anymore (probably part of their PS3 optimizations) but it should be the case in Planetary Conquest. Objectives and installations present all belonging to the defender with the attacker having to hack/call in friendly installations. Just makes sense. Maps should have assigned drop points, too, where you can call in reinforcement installations. |

As these are research, production, and storage facilities, I imagine they have to transition between X-mode and defensive combat-mode so they aren't wasting energy and resources on maintaining a low-altitude NULL cannon or other such support around the base while it is safely churning away at doing whatever it does for a day-job.
There will eventually be the MCC Command position where a commander will be able to call in installations on locations and at this time it would make sense if the attackers only had their MCC and perhaps one CRU to spawn from and the commander would have to call in neutral installations around the map to support his team while the already on-map installations would already belong to the defender who himself or herself could call in MORE defensive installations as well for more strategical placement on the map.
That's well off into the future. Let's get the base mechanics working again before worrying about custom OMS. |

If they can't do Skirmish 1.0 / Infiltration yet, they should change things up where every installation is blue to the defenders at the start of the match, but with a grace period where the defenders can still only spawn in their redline or on uplinks and the attackers' MCC takes reduced null cannon damage. Once the grace period is over and/or the attackers capture a point, the defenders can start spawning on blue objectives as normal.
You could also maybe have the installations closest to the attacking redline be neutral at the start, as though the MCC has some kind of EMP weapon that resets installation standings within a set range. Perhaps that could ultimately be a skill for player controlled MCCs; with a wider radius of neutral installations as it is trained up. |

Honestly, I think attacking and defending Districts should be where we see Skirmish 1.0 come back.
Defender owns all the structures, but is restricted to hard-spawns.
Attacker has to take everything, but they have their MCC as a mobile spawn and vehicle carrier, and can use its turrets to provide "artillery" support.
You capture the District by taking out defense control uplinks that then leave the null-cannons themselves vulnerable to hacking. |

Cheers for some feedback, so the general feeling on this is the same as mine with a few tweaks which I like the sound of.
I guess the post will need a lot more attention for it to become something CCP look into.
Thankyou for the constructive feedback so far and I look forward to further ideas/suggestions. |

Agreed, I feel like the attacker should have to overrun a set number of objectives in order like the mcoms in BF. Makes no sense for defenders to be running to the city they are supposed to be defending |

Get your arse to Fanfest next year. While it was told in FanFest, the quick and easy solution would be to do, as the OP suggested, set the defender to control the null cannons at the start of the game. |

also bring back destructible objectives. I loved being able to blow them up, now as a logi, I want to look after them!
if they get destroyed, the MCC / clone count / timer keeps the game running. let logis do maintenance damn it. :) |

Can we expect the same sort of "different mode between different areas" when comparing say LowSec battles in DUST to NullSec/W-Sec? |

now this is something i would give a +1 for, each district having set game types even team sizes small districts only allow 8v8 while larger ones the16v16

Skirmish 1.0 should probably be used for the initial "landfall" when attacking a district. If the attacker wins that match, it goes to normal skirmish on the next scheduled attack. |

This request makes A LOT of sense and therefore I am bumping to hopefully for importance. Perhaps even add am extended campaign version where the there are many more checkpoints between the attacker and the facility(determined by a reinforcement level that you could pay/train up once day if not under attack). When the timer ends, the attacker will resume the attack the next day at the checkpoint they left off at the day before with the same remaining clones they had from the day before! |

PC definitely needs more of a siege feel to it. It needs to feel more epic.
As it stands now when you show up for battle your land doesn't feel like your land. At least give the defenders a headstart to set up a defensive line so it actually feels like you're attacking something or defending something, not just showing up for a game of ball in the park.
This mode shouldn't be about being equal at the start of battle. It should be about WAR. |

Straight up, the original concept for Skirmish was badass. Take out the first two null cannons and then move on to the city complex where the MCC had to dock with it. Made for some BRUTAL firefights and amazing flow of the battle.
