In Greek Mythology, it was fated that the Titan Cronus would be overthrown by one of his children. To prevent this from happening, with the birth of every child Cronus would swallow them whole and hold them inside his body, stifling them and preventing them from developing as they naturally should, into the first Ol-IMP-ians.
By great effort, a single child managed to escape this and was allowed to grow free from the influence of the power-mad Cronus. On reaching maturity, the child returned to his parent's domain and compelled Cronus to free those who were trapped within, before leading the revolt against the aging and corrupt dynasty of Titans which Cronus headed. In this "war of the gods", this first Ol-IMP-ian lead his siblings to victory through which they obtained supremacy and claimed the right to rule the heavens.

Confirmed. I considered giving him so bread to go away but he wouldn't shut up about greek gods and how they love to have sex with their sisters. |

And then the Greeks lived through their darkest years under the vain "Ol-IMP-ians", whose jealousy for anyone surpassing their own abilities drove them to commit horrible atrocities merely from their own insecurity as flawed gods.
I like this analogy. Feel free to continue. |
