Ok the plasma canon operation skill reduces charge by 5%. 5% of 0.6 seconds is what? See where I am going with this? Mass driver get increased splash radius, assault rifles get reduction to kick, scrambler pistols get a whole extra bullet in the clip. Just looking for some balance.
Here are a few suggestions. How about projectile velocity? Or even increase to splash dmg only? Or what about increased reload speed? Some reload lovin? Or lastly, increased clip size, which would have to be 20% per level or the size wouldn't increase at all. |

The Scrambler Pistol Operations skill increases clip size by 1 per level, not by a percent. That would be too much for the plasma cannon. Projectile velocity sounds good but I feel its good where it's add. Plus 5% to splash damage radius per level sounds perfect. |

Severance I'm with you and anything other than that 5% reduction to charge time seems better I tried out the lvl 1 plasma cannon and was like this is a really **** large version of a mass driver |

Well you were saying perhaps a clip size increase so I was bringing up how it doesn't have to be percentage based but then argued against it. You brought up projectile velocity speed and I was saying that's good but don't think it really needs to be increased. You also brought up splash damage which I agreed with (but edited to clarify I mean splash damage radius).
That one like you have on the post is from me btw. I agree that the current operations bonus is pathetic and should be replaced. |

I would prefer projectile velocity bonus as long as the weapon keeps the same arc. I don't want to have to adjust where to aim based on where my skill level with the Plasma Cannon is at.
The reason velocity would be better than both charge time or splash radius is simple. First off, the charge time is perfect where it's at, and we really don't need it much faster. It's the reload time that kills us, and if you want to be able to survive with the Plasma Cannon you NEED that reloading speed. The advantage of a velocity bonus over a splash bonus is that it rewards the accurate and well-led shots more. Your shot is more likely to connect with your target if it's moving faster than its current cotton ball mode, and then you don't need to worry about whether or not you're splashing anything.
The ONLY problem with the Plasma Cannon is projectile speed (and perhaps a lack of ADS ability). One shot per reload? Fine. Has to charge up the shot but can't hold a charge? Fine. Less damage than Swarm Launchers and Forge Guns? Fine.
Just give us a bit of extra speed on that projectile and I will have this weapon leaving vehicle wrecks and scorched bodies across the battlefield. |
