I'm not even trying for kills or anything, but lots of maps seems like they don't favor snipers much except for a few maps. either most objectives are inside building complexes or city like areas with only maybe like 1 or 2 objectives that a sniper can defend. or that most maps just spawn you inside the complexes and the battles only ensue there. so as the topic says, is it worth it to be a sniper in this game as of right now? |

I'm a full time sniper, but I know what you mean. Some maps aren't friendly for snipers, but there's always mountains and rocky terrains that provide cover and distance. Sometimes the center of the map has high walls, so it's always better to find a camp where there's a lot of activity with coming and going near the entrance. Height is a sniper's best friend, so when a map with high building comes around, I get hard-on and go for it with ladders. It's always best to bring a backup such as a submachine gun or scrambler pistol or any small guns for fights up close regardless how weak they may be. It always helps. |

yer just get a decent sniper. advanced sniper or somethin..just for when your being spawn killed.. its pretty much just easy pickings ...if your a decent sniper and find good spots or sit in red zone .with ammo supply near by. then 90% of the time you will be top of the board on kills |

Another thing is that while a lot of people might rely on AR and other machine guns for quick and easy kills, snipers are very valuable for keeping enemies off the squad's back for objectives when they go up against the big guys. Snipers have lower WP rakes than the ones with AR do, but that's not the point. Snipers are better for Skirmishes and teamwork rather than L33t kills. |

It's harder than it was before... perhaps as evidenced by the sudden drop in the number of snipers on the field most of the time. The sniper rifle seems a bit more awkward than it was... spending more time swinging around once you scope in.
Edit: It would be nice if it just gave you a random offset instead of meandering around and wasting your time.
I'm thinking of trying out sniping with an AR... keeping a sniper fit handy in case I need to counter snipe. |

i have a sub machine gun as my back up and it never fails me. i do look around for those sniper spots and have proto sniper, though it may have been a bad choice, but i like it and plan to stick with it, just need to explore those maps i guess. thanks for all the help with where to snipe at though |

Dropship flight ceiling was raised substantially and you can now call back vehicles. Just get a militia dropship, fly on top of your MCC or any tall building, recall your dropship, and start sniping. |

You can always call for Dropship and find yourself a decent spot on some building. What pissing me off in this build is that Sniper Rifle without scoop have lower draw distance then with scoop, and usually inadvisable people are running around and I can not see them unless I turn on my scoop. It's most problematic when someone is taking objectives, because you have small delay between turning on your scope and actually having that inadvisable dude on sight.
HAV Sniper have similar issue with Railgun structures - he may have them in weapons range but they are inadvisable(no structure on landscape, no marker ether). |

I'd also go with practicing your mid-long range game in skirmish ,Just stay a good distance away from TACkys. It's not often mentioned here, but the standing sway has drastically decreased from the previous build, not quickscoping drastically, but enough where skill would offset luck. |
