Scrambler rifle is mostly good as it is now. Its not too accurate and build up heat quickly to prevent close range spamming which is all good. The only thing i would change about it is when you are in scope mode, make the dot turn red when over an enemy instead of light blue. light blue is for friendlies and red should be for enemies (also its hard to tell when you are on someone if the dot is normally light yellow and it goes to light blue). Red means dead when it comes to guns. All the safety on guns have a red marker on them to know when it is on the safety or not and red means its not on safety. So please turn off the the safety on scrambler rifles.
Also give the laser rifle the same sights as the scrambler rifle. They are both amarr laser type weapons and the laser rifle shouldn't have iron sights with the sort of technology the amarr have. |

Agreed, the Laser Rifle iron sight is absolutely baffling to me. |

Xerics wrote:Its not too accurate and build up heat quickly to prevent close range spamming It doesn't just prevent close range spamming, it prevents any sort of burst fire whatsoever. You can't even fire two charged shots in a row without being disabled for 6 seconds and taking a 50 hitpoint penalty. |

The scrambler definitely needs some skills to reduce heat build-up or to increase the cool-down speed. Even a +2% per level would be amazing. |

Can't we just have a module that reduces handheld weapon heat build-up? |

CCP hid the bonus in the Dropsuit Command tree, but we have it. Amarr Assault dropsuits have a heat reduction skill bonus specifically for laser weaponry (SR is considered a Pulse Laser by CCP, so it should work). We don't need another SP sink, but I specified a small change below.
As for OP:
Laser Rifle - Haven't played with it, but let's just say I never saw one on the killfeed, even when they are somewhat common on the battlefield. I'd take it one step at a time, with the first being a range increase (ATM a Tac blaster AR has more range!) combined with a new sight that isn't as obstructive - maybe an ACOG-style sight that gives you tunnel-vision as a tradeoff for target visibility.
Scrambler Rifle - This weapon is balanced beautifully. Some complain it overheats too fast (See above), but the heat cap cannot be made too high, or we wind up with another Tac problem. a 5%-10% non-skill change to the SR heat capacity should suffice. For those wanting more shots now, I would start diverting SP towards getting an Amarr Assault suit (AUR models don't use the skill, and don't get the heat bonus) |

The main scrambler isn't actually a pulse laser... it is a beam laser.
The assault variant is a pulse laser...
The charge type should have longer range while the assault should have a lower range.
Its more like two classes of weapon merged into one.
Its kinda weird. |

I realize that the amarr assault suits get a bonus to this but I think that should be above and beyond what any other racial suit user can get. No what I want to see is what I stated a new skill that will reduce heat build up or speed cool down. This could even be a skill you can only get after getting to profiency 5 and have a 5x multiplier, This would reduce its unbalancing potential since it would be hard to skill into but still vastly usefull for those of us that want to combine the amarran scrambler rifle/laser rifle with non-amarr suits. |

Right. Both scramblers are pulse lasers. Their range is way way under where it should be in comparison with blasters as-is. If they were beam lasers, the problem would be even more ridiculous. |
