On The Brink is now hiring Eve Pilots and Dust Mercs serious about planetary conquest.
Corporation Policy
Our corp Mission Statement is simple -- We strive to be a dynamic game changing force by being a close knit unit. Our corp Motto is similar -- We are not your boss; we are your partners. What that means is that all members get what they give in equal parts. Loyalty to the corp is rewarded with loyalty to the individual. Work ethic is rewarded with responsibility.
Corporation Information
On The Brink (OTB) is a closed beta corporation. We are a hardcore group that recognizes that most people do not want a game to be a job. We come here for fun. You come here for fun. Our operational way of thinking separates the Dust experience into 2 parts. Part 1 - Play around and have fun laughing with the members. Part 2 - Game time. We are looking for members that can make that switch; knowing when to relax and have a good time and knowing when to get serious and use disciplined teamwork. The corp is run by the players as much as the board. Your input will be on par with any other memberGÇÖs. Advancement in the corp is merit based -- if there is something you can do well then we will have you do it. Such advancement is not mandatory as personal agenda is respected.
Corporation Specifics
Corp Timing:
Equal parts Eu and NA player base. Small but present Asia/Oceanic player base. OTB Corp time is generally EU and NA peak time. However Asia and Oceanic time zones are marginally represented.

War Theatre / Eve Infrastructure Information
OTB is part of the Chronos alliance. Partnered with our Eve side corp we support, logistics, and industry beyond standard combat reinforcement. Earned resources are fed into respective Dust and Eve assets and used to finance operations of the group as well as individual members. As of this posting Chronos boasts the largest number of districts controlled by a single alliance.
Prospective Member Requirements:
Team players. We take Planetary Conquest seriously. You do not have to be a slayer. Any and all who take their supporting roles seriously will be considered.
Social players. We have to hear from you. Players who just join, run their own games, and never talk to their fellow corp members will find their contracts terminated. Your corp mates need to know who you are, and you need to know who your corp mates are.
Mics 99% required. We can't all always have comms on. For those times you don't you will need to chat a bit in text to let us know you are here and with us. Some situations or "exceptional individuals"* may have the mic requirement waved as long as they always have voice chat on so that they can hear their Squad leaders and Fleet Officers in game. However, your play experience and your ability to integrate into the corp will be significantly enhanced if you have a mic. Also, itGÇÖs fun to shoot the **** with your buddies.
Willingness to improve. OTB is a closed beta first build corporation. We have a lot of experience. This is not a noob corp. That being said, new players willing to learn improve, and work with their corp members will find a wealth of information for clone development as well as comprehensive training in practical skills. As such noobs who do not plan on being noobs for long are encouraged to join as long as they are serious about Dust and/or Eve and want to play in the big leagues.
Individual Skill. Very enthusiastic team work oriented new players may be accepted. However our emphasis is on veteran competent players looking to step into the more organized aspects of Dust and PConquest. We want players that can do something and do it well without us having to check up on them.
Corp Rules
-Information sent out to the corp stays in the corp
-Excessive trolling or immature behavior publicly is not allowed. Keep your jokes in house and do not embarrass yourself or your corp
-Glitching, boosting, exploits, and scamming are not allowed. Glitching and exploits are obviously cheating and we play it strait. Boosting serves only yourself and not your teammates and steps outside Dust's intended experience. HTFU
-Griefing is not allowed. We are on good terms with all Alliance corps and a very large number of non alliance corps. We want people to see OTB in game and think, "Glad those guys are here. They do their job and are cool to play with." It is unprofessional to cause people unnecessary grief.
-All other actions that are deemed to cause significant financial or reputational damage are likewise not allowed.
Corp Recruitment Procedure
1. Join the chat OTB. We do not accept corp members at will. We want to know you. We will want to run some games with you in our squad. Performance is noted but is by no means the deciding factor of acceptance. Mostly we look for attitude, potential, and the ability to interact with your possible future corp mates. We are a player driven corp That means that we want you to know us as well. This is our chance to get to know each other.
2. After we have played a bit together send an application through the corporation menu. Odds are we will have already invited you.
3. Relax while we screen apps. Please allow 1-3 days for a response. We will be sure to send you a response even in the case of non-acceptance.

Afterthoughts
As I stated before we are not a noob corp. We want players that enjoy hard battles against skilled opponents. We want players that WILL work together, support each other, and can follow orders. We will train new players, or players that have experience and want to take their game up a level. This is about us as a group as much as it is about ourselves individually. By focusing on what we can do for our corp as much as what we can do for ourselves (you do not have to put one above the other) you will find your individual experience as well as ability will improve greatly. We want players that can take their game faces off and have fun in the interim between serious matches while we grind SP. We want you to have fun with us. Most importantly - we want players that we can talk to. Camaraderie is the most central aspect of our corp. We mean to keep it that way.
Definitions:
Exceptional players are defined as players that posses the ability to work with the group. You may be a great slayer. You may be a great tanker. You may be a great drop ship pilot. You may be a great logi. But if you can't communicate on mic it can be difficult to capitalize on your abilities to their full extent. As such you will have to be fastidious about following orders. Players with mics have significantly more leeway in the flow of battle and can provide far more information to the officers. If you don't have a mic the only way to counteract that weakness is to be able to fit into your squad and run the game plan as selflessly as possible.

Ages aslong as you are around the age 18. With Commitment, we know people have a life so you don't have to be on 24 hours but be on enough to get to know the lads. On planetary you will be involved when we think your an assets. We will train you into the way we fight. So you will have guided and be speed tracked to the On the brink ways |

Bud normally not, but you have some maturity by using forums to search for corps, we will get you into squad with us and just see what ya like, if you have tallent in the game does not matter with age, in our eyes, just need to be mature in ops, So yer buddy join our channel 'OTB' just those three letters and i will have a chat with ya :)

An age requirement is not in the post. There are plenty of 25 year olds that whine and rage like 7 year olds. Your maturity level and ability to play in a disciplined fashion during corp matches is how we determine eligibility. We don't need people talking about kills or deaths on mic cluttering up comms. As the post said - we are lookin for serious players. If you are a professional in game when the time comes then your age will likely not be a factor.

Thank you. I typically pride myself in being more mature than most of the people I play with. I have no love for KDRs and am completely ok with "kill steals" etc. The only problem I have with a corp is if their member rest on the stereotype that every gamer under 18 is a whiny CoD player who complains when he dies and calls everyone offensive names while he cries to his parents. I'm just here to have fun while playing an FPS with a deep lore, and an amazing community and meta-game that puts real value on what you create, as well as team based combat. So once again, thank you for this opportunity and I hope to see you soon. |
