I anti-sign. Jenza shouldn't be on the CPM, but this is burying legitimate complaints. Ironwolf is excellent as long as he sticks to the mission. |

As a CPM I expected publicly you would be lobbying CCP towards a fix to the obviously broken mechanic. Instead you and your alliance has been the leaders in it's abuse.
If you read my initial post you will see their is none of that, only a plea for the CPM to do their job and light a fire under CCP to fix this issue. Otherwise PC is going to be dead on arrival, especially if we go by Iron Wolf's estimate of a fix in 3 months!
Either do your job as a CPM and publicly take a stance against the mechanic which undermines all of PC, or step down and let someone who is concerned about the well being of the game takes over. New Eden citizens love to point out how much they love the meta-game, however to claim this to be some ingenious EvE level super spy stuff is fooling yourself. It's a broken mechanic that is being abused and then justified by say "Well it is New Eden".
I expected more from you Jenza.
I didn't. Don't disappoint yourself by asking her to step down. She is not going anywhere unless fired or we actually have a say in who is seated. |

This tactic while it can be considered meta-game is obviously a major problem for planetary conquest due to a severe lack of corporation controls and is far to easy to pull off. The job of CPM is to be the advocate for the community so that dust can thrive, however it seems that that duty has been set aside and replaced with their duty to Betamax (and their use of AWOXing) and the defense of a tactic that will turn the greatest part of dust into a side show.
When CPM0 was announced many members of the community voiced their concerns of having 2 members of CPM from the same corporation and now it seems that those concerns have been proven valid. Any CPM members who have the community as their top priority would quickly condemn this tactic, and would use their influence to push CCP to give corporation leadership stronger controls over their PC battle roster. The tactic is valid. The use of it in this circumstance was absolutely legit. Your whining sickens me.
The tactic is valid. The mechanics are broken. The efficacy to effort ratio is obscene. So much so that it makes the "gun game" unimportant as soon as it's on the table en-masse. I don't hate the warriors for their red line lav repping, but that doesn't make me think they weren't tools for continuing to do it after the issue hit the limelight. |

Did you really just imply that I have ANY relations to the imperfects? You really have no clue what your talking about do you. You hold a lot of districs ONLY because you where the first ones to claim them on PC launch day. Wait till you actually have to start defending them.
Wait, so last night meant NOTHING to you! ='( |

Approving the tactic sure. Not admitting how broken the mechanics are to fight it is selfish and short-sighted. I wonder what tune will be played when turnaround is considered fair play? |

Hardcore white knight dude. As your name/corp reveals, it doesn't mean they will return the favor in the end. Better to pick a set of principals and stick to them than to defend a person's e-honor. |

And you analogy breaks so quickly it's laughable. This is a mechanic on the social side of the game. It manifests as a consequence of decisions you make regarding trust. Do you really want DUST to be a game that babysits you in a way that protects you from bad decisions concerning people? I sure as hell don't. I'm sure what we both want is a mechanic to kick players, which CCP has already spoken to and last i heard there was a role on the way to accommodate this. To compare it with a broken warpoint mechanic is ridiculous and possibly disingenuous. It's like comparing cultural evolution to rocks falling. Flat out ridiculous.
There is nothing you can do besides issue 100% trust to everyone in the corp. If the plant is smart, they can hide who even did it. That's not clever, that's simply broken. |

RydogV wrote:On the one hand...whatever...when required the "holding corp" nonsense will be implemented and we'll move out and draw fire. That being said, this takes me back to the whole player formulated workaround concerning using Alt corps to help take multiple Districts when Clone Starter Packs were going to cheaper but more limited. CCP recognized that the strategy would ultimately work and it only created more effort for players and since it just made the game less fun for the players who had to juggle such nonsense they did away with the restrictions on Starter Packs. Seems like the same principle could be applied here. Not having the proper Corp Management security tools in place for P/C creates unnecessary risk. Risk that can be negated by jumping through a lot of silly hoops that ultimately keeps players from...you know...actually playing the game (ie: less fun). So why not just stick to the precedent of eliminating "time-suck, no fun, hoop jumping shenanigans" and just put in a simple mechanic that allows folks to use their time a bit more productively. No QQ here...just trying to make a sensible argument to those who feel a simple "HTFU" is considered real debate. You sir, are both a gentleman and a scholar |

Do you want it to be a cheap thrill or a satisfying payoff for playing the meta? |

Stuff about sleeping with CCP
Oh man. I guess you haven't heard the rumors about what I used to do to get the news I passed onto the community, then? But back on topic : OP, you better add me to this list too. Not only do I love it, but I completely condemn this horse**** opinion that people should need director roles to do this, and that people should be able to kick people from matches, and all those weak "MY GAME SHOULD BE 100% SAFE" arguments. Sure, it's a bit easy to do now. But if a role to join PC has to be made. There should simply be a "Can join PC" role. -Maybe- A 'Can join PC as squad leader' but this director only thing is the worst idea surrounding PC I've heard since reading that clones would be your primary income and your attack resource combined. This 'I should be able to kick people from my matches' idea needs to die, and burn in a fire right here. Kicking is a horrible solution. If it becomes harder (See previous paragraph) to awox, if you get awox'd you shouldn't have a 'mulligan' button that can easily stop it without any real effort on your part. That's just as cheap as the tactic you're complaining about, tbh. If someone worms their allies into your team with sabotage in mind, all the consequences associated with that should be in play. Any measures CCP implements about this should be preventative (See previous paragraph) but after the fact, you should have to live with it.
No you are wrong Nova. Roster control is critical once you have more than 1 level of trust. Using a bunch of holding corps is needless slog for something that is even more critical than hanger access in EVE. This is mechanics getting in the way of gameplay and you joining the HTFU crowd honestly disappoints me because I view that as losing your objectivism.

Nova explain how having the current PC mechanics is good for the game? How long before half of PC if 5 people sitting in an MCC committing suicide? Is that the end game vision of CCP? I already said a few (Pages now, I think) back in my first post in this thread : Having a role for 'can join pc' is something that should be done. But it should stop there, as far as roles for PC go. But a director manually filling a roster for each match like some people suggest, or having the ability to kick people during a match is utter horse ****. It's not fun, and if that stuff gets implemented people in the lower tiers of larger corps will never see PC at all because the only people who play will be the 'A team' (and possibly 'b team') unless they're really starving for people. I did agree that it's too easy to do. But I don't think it should be impossible to do without director roles. If someone 'awoxes' you, it wouldn't be hard to remove the role to join PC matches and kick them from the corp afterwards. But like I said in my first post on the subject : CCP should make measures regarding this preventative, not punitive. If someone manages to get 'spies' or 'griefers' into a match, there should be no "easy-out' option that simply removes them before the match is over and their 'damage' is done.
Corp battle management should copy-paste EVE fleet management and go from there. People can than make management as tight or laise-faire as they wish.
Being able to kick is equally important to controlling who can join. |
