After going on hunches of people thinking that 514 has some sort of symbolic meaning, I went to search up it's true origins. This is a long shot and probably makes no sense to anyone, but I would like to post this anyway to add to the discussion.
514 could be a reference to history and the future. 514 can also be the location of EVE relative to Earth.
One person posted a small blurb stating that it could be reference to the galaxy labeled NGC 514. I went to search up the clue and came across something pretty interesting.
NGC 514 is a galaxy located in the Pisces constellation. Looking further I found that the symbol for Pisces is strangely familiar to the Amarr symbol. The constellation outline itself also looks like the triangular point on the Amarr symbol. After finding this comparison I looked up the history of the symbol and what I found was rather interesting. The Amarr use, or recognize, 5 symbols each of which have a meaning behind them. These 5 symbols tell a story or give a setting about what went on in history. Yet there is a 6th symbol that they do not recognize; either it's origins are unknown or they haven't figure out where to use that symbol. This 6th symbol also relates to the accounts and cases of implanted test subjects being afflicted with some strange syndrome after using the implant; "Blood Red Skys, Strange Beings, and 514." The 6th symbol's color is of blood red and it does denote that man is more powerful then god; the new implant technology allows people to become immortal; the strange being could be images of past Jovians. As for the Amarr symbol I believe that the it could be an anecdote of the location EVE is relative to the location of Earth based upon the striking resemblance of the Pisces symbol.
I believe that the number is a reference and a warning about EVE's past, present, and future. Given the Amarr's history of being closely connected to the EVE gate and the original human world Earth, I've came to the conclusion that the Amarr civilization, at some point in history, worked with the Jovians in creating new technologies for implants and the like; Or rather the Jovians gave the Amarr the technology they worked with. Jovians wanted everything they can to prolong the race of their people, an ultimately the race of the original humans. 514 is a sign that they are to return in the future.
5 points in history where man has struggled and rose up again. 1 moment in the present where man becomes god (Amarr symbolic history and the new implants) 4... the future of some sort, yet I could not find and explaination for.
It could be: 4 events where Jove rises to power. 4 races of human's colapse (or perhaps work together?) 4 technologies that Jove have used to perpetuate live among the stars
My best bet is on the last idea. So far we use 2 technologies that Jove have created to keep on living. Whose to say that 2 other technologies are still out there? Does something happen when we bring all 4 techs together?
This is my opinion on the matter. I've read the 514 Chronicle so I've based some of this speculation on that piece; seeing that the Amarr have already been through the process and that they are offering a solution to the problem shows that they have been working with this technology ever since. It is possible that they might of had this implant technology all along and that the other factions discovering it could be a mistake on the Amarr's part to cover it up. (But that's a whole political matter that can be discussed another time).
Feedback? Questions? Violent Reactions?
Several members of the story team just spat out their coffee. I can just imagine them being like a little kid playing I spy when someone guesses correctly and their like, "No, no thats not it, no way, definatly not *cough*". |
