Nope. We're just mercs. We fight for who we want, when we want.
It just so happens that there hasn't been anyone but NPC corps to fight for. |

I am afraid for me to take your offer I will need 80 mil security deposit up front then if the match is won I will give you the 80m back, cover your expenses, and also your contract fee. That is my offer, take it for leave it.
If the match is lost and your score in the match is below top 25% I must assume you threw it and I will keep the 80m to cover the loss of clones, yes you will be blamed. This is to reflect your advertising that you are better than any ringer I will be able to find. If you are not of top 25% in the match I must assume you lied about it or you threw the fight on purpose. I am fair, I will cover any and all expenses to you.
If we win and your are of not of top 50% you will not receive return business, because either you lied about your skill or you intended to throw the match and failed. It would also be my obligation to report this to my peers(potential customers)
Personally, if I'm contracted to do a job, I'll do the job. If you guys pay me 10 mil, and someone offers me 100 mil to throw the match, I won't.
Am I stupid for working like that? Possibly. However, we more than others rely on trust. If we can't be trusted then we get no jobs. No jobs = no ISK. Better to take the small jobs and get paid than take a big job and never get paid again.
I'm not saying you should trust us off the mark completely - THAT is stupid. But don't think we'll be so eager to stab you in the back. Since word is getting out about all of these throwing mercs, having mercs you can trust is a rarity. And the Raiders want to be rare. |

Nobody will ever trust you the way you want them to. Everyone is for sale. You NOT are going to be able to convince anyone that you won't throw a match. Are you a human being with integrity or a merc? You cannot be both. Only one of those will survive, dare you to guess which.
Actually you can be. I've played EVE, I know how things work. And I damn well can convince people. It's not /hard/, but it'll take a hell of a long time. I won't be able to convince everyone, and being trusted completely by people I don't know in real life is unlikely - but not impossible. |

I won't be able to convince everyone, and being trusted completely by people I don't know in real life is unlikely - but not impossible. Logically it is impossible. If you are a merc you have a price, if you dont ten you are not a merc. If I buy you to throw a match, say goodbye to your integrity. If you cant be bought, then you arent a merc.
No, a mercenary fights for money. That's... it. When I enter into a contract with you, that is binding. You trust me to do X. I trust you to pay me Y.
The WHOLE POINT behind the Raiders is to have a supply of a very well talented people that you can rely on to fill gaps in your team. You enter into a contract with us, we'll do that contract. Although if you are intent on getting caught up on the language behind what we call ourselves, then Rinas' Raiders is closer to a PMC than a corporation of Mercs. And again, to hammer home the point.
If a contract with us is signed, that contract will be completeld to the best of our abilities. You can damn well include as many points to stop us stabbing you in the back - we won't anyway, because you know, we won't get any more work that way. |
