For me, more than I want to admit.
I'm in the Amarr Assault suit with SCR at V and SCR Proficiency at I, but I swear after six shots the thing still overheats. Yep, there has been many times when I've gotten the enemy down to <10 armor and suddenly HISSSSSSSSSS and I'm dead trying not to rage at my TV  |

Use the carthum then, no overheat on it... or it might be the imperial that doesn't overheat... not sure all of a sudden |

Not nearly as many times as when i ran the laser but still manage to do it occasionally.

It's the Carthum (Automatic SCR).
Idk if CCP screwed up, but for some reason the auto SCRs don't overheat. |

Been there. Killed by overheating several times in some pretty awesome fire fights. I like the overheat mechanic, and the weapon seems good overall, but there needs to be a heat reduction skill for all laser weapons. If someone goes Amarr assault that racial bonus should just be icing on the cake. |

I believe people are using the acrynimantonym that word that shortens words down to letters, I think they use SCR, since SR has been/is being used to talk about the Sniper Rifle.
Not to be derogatory but I figured I'd let you know so people don't think you are talking about the Sniper when you mean Scrambler. 
EDIT: Oh story.
Yeah I have an alt testing out the scrambler rifle. I've been killed quite a few times from overheat.  It's definitely a nice weapon though. DAT ALPHA DAMAGE.
Also, it's nice to sit just outside the range of ARs and keep nailing them like a mid range sniper. 
Oh and OP: Apparently, there are some people noting that the Amarr Assault suit bonus DOESN'T affect the SCR. Planning on testing this myself, but if true, I believe the Amarr Assault bonus should help the SCR. |

Only directly killed myself once. Got killed because I injured myself and then had no way to defend myself for a few seconds, way too many times |
