DUST does't need troop transport.
The sole challenge in the game is how to put maximum DPS on your target. As such pounding you with missiles is fair whether it's the pilot or his two side gunners.
It's also fair to hit you with a jeep on the ground. Players are using the game assets creatively to solve the only problem we have, how to kill you. |

Either take the gun away, or make it have no gunners seats. It killed me in 5 seconds. That's like 200 damage per shot or 2500 RPM. Yes, it is overpowered, and guess what? What were your Shields and Armor levels? What sort of hardeners where you running and did you even activate your reppers?
What turret was the pilot using?

We are talking about a small missile turret that someone can fit on a LAV here...
The XT-1 Accelerated Missile Launcher has a direct damage of 455 and a fire interval of 1.6 seconds. So in five seconds it can do a maximum damage of 1,365 HP. If your tank had that little eHP it deserved to die.
The XT-1 Cycled Missile Launcher is a little harder to figure. It is listed as 250.2 HP firing as a single burst wit a 0.4s interval.
Based on experience I know it has a three missile burst, and let's give each of those three missiles the full 250.2 HP. That gives us 750.6 HP per burst. The burst itself takes enough time that it can get only two bursts off in five seconds.
That gives it 1,500 in five seconds. Again, if your super tank died to that it sucks.

Again, I'd like to know just how much eHP this proto tank had.
1,500 max damage per 5 seconds per turret is pretty darn low.
Let's have a calm discussion rather than a bunch whining and crying. |

I did NOT use any repair modules, but the tank had a massive amount of shield. I'll ask my friend when he gets on how much exactly it had because I don't remember.
OK, that's 601 HP per second so in five seconds it does 3k if the pilot doesn't miss a single shot.
It overheats in 6.6 seconds so it can't keep that up for long.
So your friends tank had less than 3k total eHP. That must be a real glass cannon. |
