So I'm looking at heavy weapons and the way i see it is:
Minmatar - AP : HMG Caldari - AV: Forge gun
Is there any news on what Heavy weapons will be coming?
I'd like to suggest some.
Minmatar - AP: HMG (same) Minmatar - AV: Anit Tank Rifle, 4 round clip, semi auto, has bullet drop and no max range, long reload
Caldari - AP: Auto Gauss rifle: long range, high recoil, high damage but low rate of fire, automatic, Caldari - AV: Forge gun (same)
Amarr - AP: Rotary pulse laser, similar to the HMG, but less damage, longer range, slower rate of fire Amarr - AV: Light Tachyon laser, Mid range, same mechanic as laser rifle but once it hits the over heat threshold limit it burns the user and doesn't deacitvate automatically, only shuts off when fire button is released
Gallente - AP: Auto shoutgun, 20 round drum, short range, ability to change from shot to slug for a big increase in recoil but longer range? Gallente - AV: Siege Plasma cannon, bigger brother to the plasma cannon, 6 round clip and faster moving projectile with less arch.
These are just some day dreams i've been having, what do you think the new heavy weapons should be?

There was a post in a thread by someone from ccp that gave the descriptions of every weapon type saying that they had new heavy weapons coming.
The thing is, we have a projectile one (HMG) and a railgun one (Forge), which means that there will most likely be one that deals explosive damage, and one that shoots lasers. I'm guessing the explosive one will be an AV version of the mass driver, and the laser one an HMG variant of the Scrambler rifle (less damage, more rate of fire, bigger clip) |

ahh ok, I have searched for details but can only find a dev post saying they will be adding an amarr and gallente heavy weapon but with no details of them,
I know eventually they will add an anti vehical and anti personel type for all races i guess its just a matter of time. |

The Forge Gun can be an obnoxiously effective anti-personel weapon, too, actually.
CCP has stated there's a laser based Amarrian heavy weapon and a plasma based Gallente heavy weapon on the way. My one hope is that the Gallente Heavy weapon won't be some lame flamethrower. I want a superheated plasma burst portable cannon. Like a short ranged anti infantry variant of the Forge Gun capable of incinerating enemy suits, or something.
They wouldn't be able to be revived by nanite injectors afterward, but the Heavy user ought to be rewarded for getting into shotgun range. |

No, but they will have to introduce more Heavy weapons before they implement more Heavy suits. But first in line there are racial variants of Light frame suits(Scouts) - because they don't have to implement more content before them, maybe except Cloaking(but this is just singiel module, so it's not gonna be hard). Speaking about equipment, we should also be aware that they promise to implement something before Cloaking - Shield Bubbles Generator, and probably Webifier Generator.
If I had to guess I would say 11-13month~ till we see racial variants of Heavy Dropsuit. |
