No, it's actually part of the lore. First, the Amarr got beat by the Jove, then the Minmatar, then the Amarr met the Gallente, who learned about the Minmatar, and with the Minmatar winning their war for freedom, and signing a treaty with the Gallente, the Amarr pissed themselves and agreed to set their slaves free. Because they knew they would regret a war with the Gallente.
FYI, even with the Caldari as allies, the Gallente are capable of gathering a staggering degree of industrial and economic focus towards a full scale war effort in a very short period of time. It's not about who would win or lose, neither side wants to find out what the total cost of open war between the Amarr and the Gallente would be at the end of the day. Particularly the Amarr, who aren't interested in a repeat of the shaming they got against the Jove |

I knew Minmatar and Gallente squared up basically, but I didn't know it spooked the Amarr. |

Honestly don't like these long term established allegiances of Gallente-Minmatar and Caldari-Amarr. With the Gallente dude recently open firing on that big Minmatar gathering I'm sort of hoping tensions get wild and our allegiance falls. Aren't some Minmatar guys going to the trial? Semi-expecting them to open fire back. As far as the Caldari and Amarr, I'm not really sure why they're allies to begin with but yeah that needs to go. Would be pretty interesting to see a role reversal and have it Gallente-Amarr and Caldari-Minmatar, or better yet 4 way open warfare. The Jove can sit back and eat popcorn in enjoyment.
But of course I'm only somewhat educated in EVE lore and I'm speaking out my kitten. |

In all fairness, open war between Gallente and Amarr is quite taboo on both sides. No one likes to think about it on either side, but at this stage with the Gallente holding so much ground over the Caldari, especially having destroyed the Shiigeru, and being quite possibly the most influential of the four factions... well, let's just say that many years ago, I chose to play EVE as a Gallente citizen for the same reason as anybody - I like to win. But, I also chose to be Intaki, because while it makes me a Federation citizen, it also means I'm not one of those "the federation can do no evil" types. I've done my time with Mordu's Legion, and the Syndicate. |

Sisters of EVE are a peaceful organization focusing on aiding those in need, they do not hire mercenaries.
Jove Empire is really elusive, and have avoided contact with all the nations as much as possible. Their technology is so advanced that anyone trying to enter their territory will be killed quick.
Serpentis are pirates and should be removed, not be joined.
Sansha's nation are a people who believe in turning every single person into a spacezombie, you do not want to be with them.
Society of Concious Thought is a school, they do not hire mercenaries.
And seriously, if you want to find information on the universe of New Eden, go to Evelopedia, not shout to everyone in all caps. |

How do we know the Jovian didn't create and collapse the wormhole after we all arrived.
They could also have planted the technology we all use for cloning -- nothing comes along for free. Who stands to gain by having a back door into our clone technology (as the originators of it). Are the Jovian simply using us as entertainment via "live feed" of clone action?

@Crash Monster No one knows why the EvE Gate collapsed, however the Jovians like the Amarr, Gallente, Caldari and Minmatar are the evolved empires formed from the colonies left behind. They just happen to be the most advanced out of the five.
They did give the capsuleer's their clone technology, the mercenary clone technology is based on sleeper technology discovered in wormhole space. Whether there is a distant link between Sleeper's and Jovian's or whether the Sleeper's are a splinter set from the eveolution of the colonists I do not know and I don't believe has ever been fully explained.

Sleepers are an offshoot of one of the Jovian Empires. Most likely the first one as that seems the most likely due to dating. The EvE gate collapse was in 8010AD or somwhere in there. Current AD dare in game is 23600 or later. The site that True Stories is on has the full timeline. When they came through the gate the Jove were the least advanced of the groups but then made jumps by leaps and bounds by having most of population in cryo but hooked into a virtual world that was programmed with the same properties and physics of the real. A small segment captained and crewed the ships they used. They basically were recluses before they came through so they got as far away from everyone else as could. The virtual world allowed them to experiment and design continuously. Since time in a virtual world can be runs faster or can be run faster in a virtual world decades passed on the outside while time passed in centuries in the virtual. By the time the gate collapsed they had surpassed everyone else and had started the early beginnings of the First directorate.
