Blapathon Tanker wrote:After successfully entering the Planetary conquest battle on behalf of DUST University uninvited my corp and I delivered our ultimatum.
Pay 100 million ISK or lose the District.
DUST University declined our terms so we entered the Planetary Conquest map.
Within moments my squad began purging DUST University Infantry on behalf of our employers. I immediately dropped a madrugar with full kit and began my work, massacring as many DUST University personnel as possible in the early moments of the game.
Unfortunately Seraphim Initiative was myopic and could not tell friend from foe so they blew my tank up. Oh well, we moved along and immediately began dropping jeeps into the fray to educate the University in the folly of their ways. After a few bumper kisses the Seraphim Crew helpfully killed me again.
meanwhile my minions were loose in the wire and hunting the University fools who were desperately attempting to salvage the battle and hold the district. To prove the futility of such I charged the bumper of a gunnlogi and got driven over thus reducing the clone count yet again.
Finally after much heated violence DUST University lost the district via clone count.
Sucks to be them.
When Grief university enters the battle and delivers our ultimatum understand: You will pay our demanded ransom, or we will remove your district from your hands.
We are also open for hire. if you want someone screwed, Grief University is your tool, for we are standing on the shoulders of giants among griefers to bring misery to our targets. We are here to insure your victory... unless the victim meets our demands and doubles the payment.
That is all.
Or is it? What I learned from this:
SI loves to kill themselves and allies.
What I didn't learn: How to dance. How good you guys are - you were beating on students... How to troll How to not fail |

Out of every corp Dust Uni just wants to train using this games Meta and use it to involve many people. CRONOS couldn't even fight them fairly... lol

Here's my opinion on what happened:
This report was made to deflect the true master-minds to this betrayal. Fearful after seeing an attack from CRONOS - a plan was hatched. A corp previously alt cared for - was too front for a false sabotage to give CRONOS a terrible image. Hoping this would draw more attention to CRONOS in a negative light and hopefully force all there districts on the defense - they were going to regroup - restock and ISK - and try elsewhere. First, they wanted to leave behind a present and a possibility of at least one district staying theres.
Basically: Everyones a liar! :O |

You may have been the first, but not the last to grief the Uni. You are not special or cool, or in any way a good player for doing what you did. Just a joke, as you can read in some of the posts here. A minor speed bump in the path of a much bigger picture. You will be forgotten shortly.
The Uni will go on and continue its objective. We will do our best to participate in PC so we can allow our membership to experience that aspect of the game and it allows our leadership to gain an understanding of the UI so we can teach others who may be interested how to interact.
Thanks for everyone's support of our organization. Good fights on the first day Cronos! Too bad you guys couldn't bring anything to play with in eve it would have made the battles more interesting and a greater learning experience. You clearly haven't learned your lesson. I joined the Uni for a reason! I will be waiting! So there are masochists in Dust.... |

Blapathon Tanker wrote:Kevall Longstride wrote:As the CEO id like to say well done for playing a tactic that was brought up by myself at several round tables at Fanfest. I personally have no problem with the implementation of the infiltration of a corp. That is all part of being in New Eden, where I've lived now for over 4 years. However this particular way of infiltrating a PC match is going to be be serverly curtailed and soon enough your going to have to work a lot harder to be able to pull this off again. Now, you'd know this if you been paying attention to various sources. A roster system and a new role being added allowing the kicking of a player from a corp match is under discussion. Announcing how you 'accomplished' a laughably easy, soon to plugged exploit seems misguided as far as advertising your 'services' is concerned. I wasn't at fanfest. this actually plays into my goals well. We at Grief University are here to stress-test the theories of griefing so they may be utilized by the public to bring suffering to each other. When CCP nerfs this particular strike vector, we shall test another until such time as we find a workaround then educate the public in the fashion of an actual learning group. If CCP plugs it we'll find yet another way to break the game for people who think blue on blue should be eliminated. There will always be a market for destruction and sabotage, and so long as there is, we will have both purpose and employment. There is always a market for individuals willing to be the dirty hand grubbing through the pile of crap to find an advantage over the enemy. The metagame won't sleep, and there's always someone looking for an edge. We will make sure that edge is there, and that it remains sharp for the real giants among New Eden Intel. Quote:As has been already mentioned by many on this thread so far, DUST University has always had an open door policy, your alleged skill as an infiltrator is currently based on the ingenious exploit of simply being invited to join on application. Hardly the work of someone claiming to be the New Eden equilivant of Kim Philby.
As to the matter of a ransom I urge you to dream a little bigger. 100m ISK, while a not inconsiderable sum in Dust, is rather pitiful in comparison to the wallets of even a modestly funded corp such as ours. it was an irony thing. We knew damn well you'd never pay up. On the other hand I must applaud the quality of responses from your corporation. There is a distinct lack of gorilla-like chestbeating and roaring impotently. So far your comments are well thought out and considered. By the way, we were actually hoping your teachers and competent warfighters would be the ones you were fielding. it would make this feel less like a teenager robbing a kindergarten class. DUST University is unlikely to be the target of further aggression, as let's face it. it would be far more fun to fry a real corp. Quote:All this incident has done is to alert other corps as to this possible exploit and how to do it themselves, saving the cost of paying you to do it.
I would suggest to you that as a marketing campaign, what you've accomplished here is the New Eden equilivant of new recipe Coca Cola. That actually accomplishes our charter goals nicely. The dissemination of subversive tactics, sabotage and Intel-theft is our purpose. We stress-test the theorycrafting so you, the consumer can partake in an EVE-style metagame. As said earlier the choice of targets, though distasteful, was done for pure irony. Quote:And do your research next time.. Everyone in New Eden knows, though apparently not your good selves, that E-UNI and by inference D-UNI don't pay ransoms.
Good day to you. o7 And you as well. We were actually counting on that in order for the operation to succeed. Nevermind even were you inclined, unless CCP fixed something, you couldn't. To put matters to rest I believe most here have a mistaken impression. I am the villain of this piece, but I am not aiming for greatness and a place in New Eden History. I'm the snidely Whiplash of DUST 514, the minor villain who will lay your weaknesses and wounds bare that greater forces than I can attack them. CCP provided the game. We're just making sure New Eden has access to the toolkit. More theorycrafting and pain to come in the future. We look forward to educating you. Educate us further on how it's good policy to give out your contractor and admit to back stabbing those who even try to contract you?

Good question. We'll be sure to mention it if our employers are ever interested in paying us for our discretion as well. Wait. no we won't. Our silence was never part of the arrangement. We asked. Sexy. Is it always the policy of your corp to beat your chest over screwing over scrubs and nubs? |

This was a thread for the EVE intel geeks who have just realized they have a multitude of expendable assets nestled deep in enemy ranks.
some of these assets are director-level, and can allow expendable assets in.
You tryhards are worrying far too much about me, and far too little about the EVE nerds you deride amongst you who have been doing this kind of thing for YEARS.
You're all screwed.
And it's delicious. LOL How about I take a mushroom and enjoy eve-tards all night long? EVE holds no influence here because CCP can't program a rubber chicken.
Do you think your special for doing something any idiot can pull off? You realize how many alts I have in every single corp? I could pull this trick off and just LOL my way through - anyone could.
You guys are either special-ed or just enjoy beating your chest to no one who cares. Your not special and can be replaced by a monkey. |

You guys are either special-ed or just enjoy beating your chest to no one who cares. Your not special and can be replaced by a monkey. First of all, be careful with your jumping to conclusions, because EVE players have been doing this sort of thing for years, just not in an FPS. Also, I don't think you understand what CCP are capable of. You seem to be basing your judgment of them entirely with what they've accomplished on DUST. That's a mistake. When DUST and EVE are fully interlinked, I guarantee you you're going to see something you've never seen done before, and it's most likely going to come from EVE players, even if it doesn't come from EVE itself. Especially when the economies are fully entwined. As soon as CFC is able to directly funnel resources from EVE to DUST, we're pretty much all screwed anyway. If HBC doesn't get there first, of course. Don't underestimate people who know far more about the way New Eden and CCP work. I agree, this Grief Uni lot seem to be pretty lame, and using some imaginary "power of EVE" to prove a point means nothing, since they don't actually seem to have any influence in EVE, but it would be a mistake to assume that people from EVE are never going to be able to influence the goings-on in DUST, just as much as people in DUST will have influence over the happenings in aspects of EVE. And also, a large percentage of DUST's core audience is EVE players. Whether it's a majority or a minority, I couldn't say, but I doubt it would be a tiny one if it's the latter. Best not to forget that, because there will be people just silently watching, and waiting, and taking names. Didn't read past first few sentences - didn't need too. You seem to forget how slow CCP is at doing anything. EVE and DUST will be linked - sure - but not for another year. You guys seem to think EVE matters - It doesn't. I want it too - I want everything you say to come true and make me regret my words. But it's not happening for another year or plus |
