Our fights with SI were not only fun and enjoyable but also a learning experience for many of our vet players. I honestly dont't understand the fuss. Plenty of us knew the risks going into PC, and we are happy with it. Just means we need to practice more to be on par with Cronos. |

Eh, didn't bother reading the first post until a few minutes ago. This is probably nothing more than a troll post due to the recent losses we've faced on the ground. If what the OP stated actually happened... then I'm laughing way to hard right now. |

TrueXer0z wrote:LOL this OP is just a laugh...To be honest guys...It was eventually going to happen. You may have been the first, but not the last to grief the Uni. You are not special or cool, or in any way a good player for doing what you did. Just a joke, as you can read in some of the posts here. A minor speed bump in the path of a much bigger picture. You will be forgotten shortly.
The Uni will go on and continue its objective. We will do our best to participate in PC so we can allow our membership to experience that aspect of the game and it allows our leadership to gain an understanding of the UI so we can teach others who may be interested how to interact.
Thanks for everyone's support of our organization. Good fights on the first day Cronos! Too bad you guys couldn't bring anything to play with in eve it would have made the battles more interesting and a greater learning experience. You clearly haven't learned your lesson. Oh No!!! Tell me e tough guys...how are you gonna come for the D-Uni if they can't hold any districts? HAHA. Oh wait..let me think..you are gonna put "Spys" in the corp??? Or wait..I know...wait...ummm...yeah...anyways.....come teach me a lesson!! I joined the Uni for a reason! I will be waiting! +1 for my alt
The plus one comment made me laugh. Thank you.

I wasn't at fanfest.
this actually plays into my goals well. We at Grief University are here to stress-test the theories of griefing so they may be utilized by the public to bring suffering to each other. When CCP nerfs this particular strike vector, we shall test another until such time as we find a workaround then educate the public in the fashion of an actual learning group.
If CCP plugs it we'll find yet another way to break the game for people who think blue on blue should be eliminated. There will always be a market for destruction and sabotage, and so long as there is, we will have both purpose and employment. There is always a market for individuals willing to be the dirty hand grubbing through the pile of crap to find an advantage over the enemy.
The metagame won't sleep, and there's always someone looking for an edge. We will make sure that edge is there, and that it remains sharp for the real giants among New Eden Intel.
Back-stabbing, infiltration, up-rooting empires...
We see it happen all across New Eden, so it shouldn't be anything new to us. After all, one of EVE's biggest phrase is "Trust absolutely no one." This saying should hold true in DUST 514 as well. Members within your corporation may share a common goal, but their motives to achieve that goal will clearly be different from your own. As will the process they go about reaching that goal.
As you stated, the metagame won't sleep. There are always edges for people to gain the upper hand on their opponent. One such risk we take entering Planetary Conquest was indeed being infiltrated and having our match thrown in the enemies favor, it's something that should be expected. It's something that'll happen to everyone sooner or later.
It's these things that lured me to the EVE Universe, and it's these things I enjoy seeing. No matter how frustrating it can be, at the end of the day, it's just a game and I can eventually laugh it off and say "Well... that surely was well played." Because I know expecting the unexpected is what New Eden preaches on a daily basis.
I honestly would hate to see a mechanic implemented to remove someone from a match. Nor do I want to see friend fire turned off in Planetary Conquests.
After all... PC is suppose to be the more "risky" game play offered by CCP for DUST 514. It's a risk for everyone involved.
Quote: it was an irony thing. We knew damn well you'd never pay up. On the other hand I must applaud the quality of responses from your corporation. There is a distinct lack of gorilla-like chestbeating and roaring impotently. So far your comments are well thought out and considered.
By the way, we were actually hoping your teachers and competent warfighters would be the ones you were fielding. it would make this feel less like a teenager robbing a kindergarten class. DUST University is unlikely to be the target of further aggression, as let's face it. it would be far more fun to fry a real corp.
That actually accomplishes our charter goals nicely. The dissemination of subversive tactics, sabotage and Intel-theft is our purpose. We stress-test the theorycrafting so you, the consumer can partake in an EVE-style metagame. As said earlier the choice of targets, though distasteful, was done for pure irony.
Gorilla-like chest pounding and roaring impotently is something left to people who don't understand that this is New Eden. As I said, this is what is to be expected. The majority of the D-UNI members who posted here are familiar with how New Eden is, and that's probably why we're chillaxed about what happened.
We've all seen the posts, and we see that many are calling for blood due to the attack on a otherwise neutral University. Frankly, I have to applaud you for doing something we should have been expecting, and even briefly discussed during internal classes.
We weren't prepared and we lost a district because of it. Good game.
Quote:To put matters to rest I believe most here have a mistaken impression. I am the villain of this piece, but I am not aiming for greatness and a place in New Eden History.
I'm the snidely Whiplash of DUST 514, the minor villain who will lay your weaknesses and wounds bare that greater forces than I can attack them.
Sadly, I'm sure you'll be going down in history. Attacking RIFT and D-UNI well within twenty-four hours of each other, this very thread being up prior to or during the engagement that took place between RIFT and PRO.
Quote:CCP provided the game. We're just making sure New Eden has access to the toolkit.
More theorycrafting and pain to come in the future.
We look forward to educating you.
Oh... I am waiting.

By the way. We're not taking anymore contracts on D-Uni. While the clusterfuck was good for a chuckle, it wasn't really as fun as we'd hoped. We were honestly hoping to fight your big dogs.
Irony is fun but we consider your mission as/more important to the game as our own. If no one will educate the new players they will give up and quit from frustration. Doing this once provides a lesson and a certain ironic flavor.
We have no interest in doing it twice. The tryhards have already decided you are to be wiped from Molden heath.
I look forward to seeing your students again in combat once they're a bit better seasoned. preferably not under contract to Awox them.
Although i'd understand if they were itching for some payback.
D'aww, my lifes goal has been completed. I'm liked!
Though, yeah... our big dogs weren't online due to various degrees of real life. I, myself, would've been in that very match had I not logged off an hour or two prior to drop. Rest assured, Tanker, you'll get your chance to drop against the more elite members of the University. Whether it's in similar terms, or through extensive ground combat of PUB Matches. It might not be tomorrow. It might not be next year. But these things tend to make their way full circle in the end here in New Eden.
And a little teaser;
