Oh I feel bad for not having gotten on the forums at 5am to check for this sort of thread before my morning PC battle.
However, a smart con-man/spy always plays the long game, looks for an opportunity to do the most damage and actually achieve something. You, sir, have achieved very little.
And as for not seeking glory? Why did you start this thread then? Why reveal your plan to the world? Now everyone knows and will do what they can to be a lot more careful - sure there are still ways to get around background checks and whatnot but because everyone knows now, your job is going to be that much harder.
I applaud the attempts and the sentiment of your piracy but you can and should do better. Best of luck for the future; I'm thinking you'l' be needing it. |

Blapathon Tanker wrote:Two corps slammed for a hefty profit. And our corporate costs? We have destroyed the aspirations of two corps for the low, low price of "free". Again, I'd hardly call less than 200 clones on an almost full cargo hub slammed and you've done absolutely nothing to our aspirations at all. We still hold all 5 of our districts and will continue to win against any who try to come against us - this maneuver you've pulled is a one trick pony. |

BTW - the devs are going to be smiling like cheshire cats when they read about all of this stuff - good job G-Uni, I think you just made CCP's day. |

Oh I hope so. But if your MCC exploded that means you lost... and your district won't be making replacement clones until your next reinforce timer comes and goes without another defeat. Which means we have left you more vulnerable to attack than before... unless you pay 80 million more ISk for a genolution pack. That's fine because we still have over 200 clones left and will beat the living daylights out of PRO in the reattack tomorrow - actually, I don't even think they're reattacking that district because we've beaten them so bad in the other 3 battles we weren't hindered in. We'll be fine.
And we won't be needing to add more clones. All you've really cost us is a few bucks for suits and clones that were generated for free. The profit we would've got from winning would've been nice but not needed. We still have over a billion isk throughout the corp anyway.
I think what you need to keep in mind is that you have to get a reputation for honouring your ransom if it is paid otherwise no one will ever believe you will not throw the game anyway and you'll never get paid. That means you're going to first have to actually get someone to pay and then get them to publicly admit that they paid and that it worked. Good luck with that and good luck ever getting paid a ransom.
And really if PRO did pay you, they were wasting even more isk than the 240million isk they have already spent trying to attack us. The time to use this tactic would have been if they'd actually stood a reasonable chance of taking the district and killing 400+ clones. In fact if I was whoever paid you at PRO, I'd be pissed that you didn't deliver the full district on a platter and only killed 180 of our clones. SEE PEOPLE - THIS CORP OF MERCENARY GRIEFERS CAN'T EVEN DO THEIR JOB PROPERLY! way to build a rep ;) |

Because you had no real impact and didn't manage to deliver on your deal with PRO? All you've done is taught us how to avoid this happening again when it might have had an actually serious consequence. So, actually thank you. |

All you've done is taught us how to avoid this happening again when it might have had an actually serious consequence. So, actually thank you. when we finished the match you had 104 clones remaining. now you have over 300. You either bought a geno pack and reinforced, or you shuffled clones from another location to reinforce and bought a geno pack to cover up the loss in another district. leave the metagaming to your diplomats junior, I'm not playing to win by rules you understand. i've already won. And only a few people understand why. You can't move or buy clones on a district that is under attack. Check all our other districts - no movements, all full (more or less).
And you've not won anything because you played your only card too early and decided to tell everyone about it. Face it, you're small time and a fool. |

Holy crap, are 90% of the posters in this thread as dumb as their posts suggest? People are falling all over each other to scream how dumb Grief Uni was for making this post, when they don't even seem to understand what was done... or how they could be the next target... or the next employer. And for those who claim that EVE meta-game rules don't apply, clearly you don't understand what happened here. *throws hands up* Just another day of clueless pubbies posting on the forums. You clearly missed the part where they failed to actually gain PRO the district they were paid to serve up - yeah, great advertising. It's not hard to lose someone 450 clones in one match if you continuously suicide - these 'griefers' clearly suck as griefing. |

It's like I'm talking to a brick wall. *shakes head* Please explain how I'm wrong? They failed to deliver on one of their two 'contracts' that have been revealed. How is this being common knowledge good advertising? Why would anyone hire these guys to infiltrate and throw a match when they can't even kill themselves 450 times?
I know people say any publicity is good publicity but this is hardly true when you're trying to build a reputation as someone who can achieve results and you fail to achieve those results. |
