Wolf Lightbringer wrote:Hello there, new player here!
I've been playing for a couple of days now and I'm beginning to learn how the different suits work and the Logistics suit caught my interest. I like being able to bring a lot of useful stuff to the battlefield, instead of just a rifle and some grenades. The problem is that I've really taken a liking to the pistol and it is my understanding that Logistics only get one weapon slot and as much as I like the Scrambler, it's not that good and I'm going to need a proper main weapon.
That's when the idea of having a Light or Medium suit decked out with as much stuff as possible came, like a pseudo-Logistics if you will. I realize that I'm not going to be useful as a "real" Logistics, but I'll gladly trade some usefulness for sheer fun-value.
Is this a feasible idea, and which would be better of the Light and Medium suits and their various sub-types?
If you really want your sidearm and want a logisitcs suit for it's selection of equipment, look at the Amarr Logistics. They sacrifice some slots and 1 less equipment slot then then Gal. and Min. but gain the use of a sidearm slot and some additional fitting resources (CPU/PG).
This may be what you are looking for :)
As for effectiveness, one of the beauties of the Amarr Logistics is thier ability to use the sidearm to make up for weaknesses in thier primary. You can do a swarm launcher Logi this way as you'll have a sidearm for anti-infantry. There are some neat options you open up with that sidearm slot, but you won't be as effective at a straight Logistics role as perhaps the Gallente with his ease of equipment a lot of high level equipment.
Hope this helps ^,^ |

IronDuke 177 wrote:Hi all, another newbie question, I like being a sniper and would like to carry ammo & d-links. Would the Amarr Logi work for this, or is there another suit that would be better. I'm not that great when things get up close and personal, all though I do try it at times... Thanks
The Amarr Logi could certainly do that but Logi suits are a little squishier then and equivalent medium frame or assault suit. While survivability is not always in the minds of many snipers, being able to take a sniper round or 2 will go a long way to doing well as a sniper. Counter-sniping is an evenvitability and you will be shot at some point.
The other thing to note is the Amarr Logi is quite slow and will make it difficult to get into some of the better sniping spots. Something you might want to keep in mind.
The idea here is you have options based on what you want to do. Look up various dropsuit stats in the marketplace and see what might work best for you. Ultimately you will need to be the judge on what's best. |

Another great place to be is 'DUST University'. I can't say much for 'DUST Uni', but I know that 'BSoTT' is a pretty amazing place. From what I know, we both get results. :D
I'd check out both in the 'Corporation Recruiitment' section, to see which one fits you better. :)
~Student at BSoTT I'll do that, but I want some experience just playing the game for a bit first.
If you just want some experiance playing the game, I would recommend going to those corps. Their purpose is to train new players and help get people comfortable with the game. They have plenty of experianced players to go to for advice and many other players you can chat with for help aswell as squads.
After spending some time there, you can look at other corperations for a more involved New Eden experience. |
