I thought it might because I was using tier 2 grenades, and Uprising had change the seek settings, but I have skilled up to proto ones.
LAVS are able to drive past AV grenades that are thrown at them, in front of them etc.. I am not saying it was wrong to turn the homing down - if this is the reason.
But now I have to throw the grenades on the floor so they act as mines. This outcome makes no sense.
I have put it in this section as I don't know if its because you turned homing down and you want it like this.
Or by turning it down we know have the above which wasn't supposed to happen and something isn't working right
Or homing wasn't turned down and something just isn't working.

Dude, I feel your pain. Homing isn't broken, trust me. Your AV nades don't do much damage to LAVs anymore because their HP were buffed in Tuesday's update. I got ran over 3 times before I figured out my AV nades were connecting just not doing jack-all for damage. Militia LAVs are the new tanks. |

I drive LLAV and I say they are homing. you need video proof, it might just the hit mark isn't showing which is likely. |

Video proof. Lol
Been here since replication and used nades since then.
They have defientley changed. And throwing them on the floor to act as mines is stupid
@kitten Possibly. But the fact that they blow up instantly when they run over them (using proto) and using them as instant mines suggests there is a problem with the game registering the hit if thrown at it. If that makes sense |

Fine. But as I keep saying you can't hit direct. Lavs are driving through them.
How hard is this to understand.
Hence my point about having to use them as mines |

I have seen this as well. My solution seems to be to throw them straight up in the air, at which point the homing catches on. = )
I'll have to try the mine technique. |

Simply put, you are not getting hits, much like you get the phantom hit markers on some foot mobiles.
You hit them at point X while the vehicle is going Y fast, the server then computes the math. Now if the lag catches you, are only doing maybe 25% damage because of the veh speed the server knows that the vehicle is not at the point of impact anymore .... case in point when my AV nade did a 180 degree turn to hit a lav 10 seconds after I threw it and about 25 to 30 meters away from me at that point.
This is probably the same reason that players hit by a lav vehicle can not be revived 95% of the time.

The old AV nades would home from 15+ meters away. Now the usually just fly right over LAVs. The damage they do is completely fine if it makes contact. |

They messed with some global vehicle stats that affect hitboxes, bounding boxes. Jumping out of a LAV at a speed that normally means an impact kill is going to kill you because you eject too close to the center of the model + Shooting missiles from a drop-ship. Things that were fine in Chromosome.
(How were these things not found during internal testing? Don't know what they're working with or how many they have to test but..) |
