So i skilled in scrambler rifle 100% and i use assault scrambler rifles mainly. i say this to say, i understand that you have to get used to SRs, but they are no match for TARs and such. i mean no hate, but the SR overheats too easily, so thats why i use the assault scramler rifle. i once went 20-1 with it, so i know it definitely has potential, but how do you unlock it? i use two militia light dmg mods and its noticeably stronger, but how i make it even better? skill into dropsuit modules and/or get complex dmg mods? any help will be greatly appreciated. also, this is for the CRD and Carthum Assault SRs. |

I would go damage mods really, the damage to armor is so low is not even funny. However, you also have to think that this thing has low optimal range, so having a shield tanked suit who can strafe fast could just be better than the mods. Low range means youll get hit more often, so you need to be able to tank shots and survive. I use it with the Caldari suit fyi. |

Thing about using the Primary Varient of the Scrambler Rifle is to accept three things.
It does NOT work well against Armour
It will overheat so continuous fire is a big no no
And that it most certainly is a ranged weapon for engaging at 50+ meters with effect.
I myself have found that since I laid my hands on the Imperial Scrambler Rifle my in match k/d has sky rocketed going from an avergare of 2-3 to 8-11.
This is because the Scrambler Rifle Eschews the ideal of suppression and follows a fire for effect style of gameplay. With my current Load out being a full Amarr set up and having strictly used the Laser since Uprising came out Im used to long distance odd sights targeting.
Now with all overheat weapons there is no unloading on the enemy. Quick 1-2 Bursts of Scrambler fire to peg and disrupt target movement as well as reduce shields helps immensely not to mention allows for the dispersion of heat over time. Once a target stops or begins to approach you it is then the time to work as many shots as fast as you feel comfortable with into your target.
In a straight 1vs1 fight I find myself out shooting most Tac users at about 45-60 meters with them having the advantage over me at longer distances.
As for the Assault Scrambler RIfles I would treat those like AR's except that you can use them to suppress/ unload on mid range targets. As before they shatter shields but suffer against heavies and armour tankers. |

Stacking complex damage mods is your best bet for improving the gun's damage. If the skill tree has a +x% damage per level skill up that too (I'm not sure it does though, saw ppl say it doesn't but I'm not in-game so I can't check) |

I understand people like high damage guns but the beauty of the Scrambler Rifle is that you really dont even need them.
Though I will admit that I do like improving the damage you really need to balance Tanking power vs Damage output...thus you need high tier suits.... |

My experience with it is similar to Harkon's. The most important thing that worked for me is to leave around 10-20 meters for room to engage. It excels at mid-range engagements with well placed shots, rather than the bumper shredding spraying you some folks doing with the tac. It seems to me it has first shot accuracy advantage, but the dispersion gets wild fairly quickly.
I started out using the damage mods, but switched to extenders. I don't as many kills, but the assists roll in. The charge variant however, with enhanced mods, will drop folks pretty easily if you're accurate. |

Tip : the assault and the standard both have excellent hip fire, so use it to your advantage |

This is true.
I only use the aSR exclusively. And yes the range is shorter than the AR which means the TAC will own you mid range. However, I noticed that the aSR is really effective in cqc with its hip fire spread.
I've taken out a heavy cqc with an aSR in one clip with rounds to spare. |
