Hello everyone,
I actually joined about a month or so ago during Beta but wasn't really enjoying myself so I left. I just tried it again yesterday after the new build and I must say I am enjoying myself much more this time around. I do have a few questions though. I am leaning more towards an assault role in combat with ground vehicle skills as well. What skills should I be focusing on right now? I'm thinking about Gallante Assault dropsuits since I can stack lots of armor and repairers with Assault Rifles. Then once I flesh that out start sticking points in vehicles. This sound any good? Anyone have recommendations? Thanks! |

Dude. You are gonna be playing for months before your suit gets done. If you do vehicles first it will take longer. If you are gonna do suit first I would just jump in other vehicles and play with them, as time goes by your experience will shape your ultimate decision. Cross that bridge when you come to it. For now, work on tweeking your suit to what you want. Gallente gives a bonus to hybrid on cpu/pg so you can fit almost any assault rifle on to low level suits or give you more flexibilty with higher level suits. Gallente's greatest appeal is flexibilty so experiment to your heart's content. |

Thanks for the response. As far as vehicles go I just been playing around with my starter LAV vehicle and running people over... haha. It is good to know that race's suit has flexibility. Thanks again! |

Question why do people think beta is playing a game?
Beta is game esting not so much playing. If there was something you disliked I'm sure the beta forums were a place to suggest improvements.
Why is it the common misconception that beta = demo/free game
And yes putting points in gear and gear upgrades help more. Most my points went into upgrades, and finding mysefl surviving more. |

I love the gallente assult drop suityou can armor tank the hell out of it and then place light weapon damage mods on it, on top of the bonus you get from the suit. I suggest you buy one of all the mods from the militia store an then play around with those. that way you can get a feel for what fitting tanks you best play with. personally I have found the scrambler rifle to work well with this suit because it gives you a lot of damage per shot and from armor tanking you can have a lot more hp, like a light amarr heavy. you are also much faster as well. I find my self able to take on almost any other suit with this fitting
-militia gallente assult -3 enhanced armor plates -basic scrambler rifle -militia repair tool/nano hives(for squad support)
it only cost about 5k isk a suit so it is cheap to run and easy to skill into.

Ravenia for the most part we have been playing the game. truthfully all uprising was was another update, sooo if it was just an update and there are another 10 years of updates then the game is really still in beta and wont come out until 2023 when they could possible be done. who knows what they will think of in the next 10 years |

This is, in my opinion, not quite correct. To be the absolute best that you can in a single role, it will take you many months. But the way EVE and Dust work is that you can get a lot of power for a few SP's, and just a little power at the cost of a lot more sp's. So a player can get 80% of the power with perhaps 50% (just making up numbers here) of the skillpoints required for 100% power.
So a player could very reasonably use a powerful advanced suit fit, and be good at a light vehicles role, without sacrificing too much by not going to proto. After a point, player skill and teamwork makes a much bigger difference. Although, the proto suits are quite good.... |
