Umm... how do you get alot people to follow your cause, i mean in the trailers for dust they said that could happen but it seems alot harder than i thought. This is now my second time trying to do this :(. Any thoughts? I also thought that the name is what mattered but most certainly not, for i see lots of corps with stupid or funny names and they pull in members like moths to light. |

People wont just join because you made a corp. You have to give them a reason to want to. It's extremely difficult to get anyone to just join a one man corp because there's no benefit to it. Ask yourself this - why would I join a corp?
You should only really start a corp if you already have a group you play with who want to make a corp too. Otherwise you're just a guy in a field asking people to follow him. |

CEO is by far the most ambitious and difficult task in new eden.
Takes work, effort, researching, some charisma and a bit of luck.
My bit of advice, learn how to follow first. |

I think these 2 quotes really define leadership in New Eden. The leadership in those corps with funny names are still great leaders in of themselves.
We are all human, and when putting together a corp, you are putting together a group of human beings. We all have our own thoughts and goals. By spending time in a corp and developing a greater understanding of what people are looking for in a leader, you will then in turn develop your own skills as one.
If leadership is a role you wish to pursue, then be prepared to work hard at it. It is very rewarding though to see your ideas and mechinations come about. |

How to establish a Corp:
1. Create a chat channel. Name it "[insert Corp name] and friends" or something.
2. Join a squad if one is available, and join the voice channel for the squad and see if anyone's there (whether on mic or in text). Greet your temporary squadmates and introduce yourself. When you get a chance, look up the names of your squadmates on the leaderboard, and see if they're in a player Corp already, or still in NPC Corps.
3. If the squad you're in has players without a Corp affiliation, watch and listen for those players specifically. See if they're the kind of people you'd want in your Corp. If they are, make a point of adding them as contacts.
4. Invite your new contacts - and inform them you're doing so - to your "Corp and friends" channel. If they ask about the Corp, mention that you're just starting out, but you'd welcome them to join. If they don't bring it up, initiate the offer yourself. Say "you seem pretty cool, we get on well. Want to help me get this Corp off the ground?"
5. ????
Not much I can offer past step 4. Every Corp needs to develop its own identity - this will be directed in large part by the CEO, and also any Directors he or she appoints. But every member of the Corp will influence how you turn out. Starting is the easy part, but continuing successfully from there is one of the most rewarding experiencing in online gaming. |

Lead by example. Join fw start pulling squads together and be an effective squad leader. People become far more responsive to someone who they know can deliver results. But be warned from experice running and building a corp WIll become a second job. But people will thank u for it when they get that first win as a unit :-) |

you start a corp if you and 20 of your friends are coming over from another game. otherwise you try to learn from the people that are here |

I started my corp with nothing i was a basic character and only had a idea
The idea is working it took effort and time to set the social networks and website up so communications are constant Got some really great guys running with me and its them who make the corp
Up to 37 members now and only recruiting up to 100 max
So my advice is stick to :) |

Create 100 alts. Then have them all join your own corp
On serious note, Leading a squad is one thing, leading a corp is entire different beast altogether. Not everyone can be one, especially in such a hardcore game as Dust/EVE. If you never have experience leading an mmo guild/clan/corp, I suggest you try it in more....casual game first. Even those who have experience, many still fail when they set foot on New Eden. If you are still up for the challenge, new player is the easiest source for new recruits. Squad with them. Play with them. Teach them. And they will be more likely to join your cause. |
