To make small hot fix changes. And don't feed me crap about looking at all the variables first. It took them 6+ months to change the price on the Heavy Proto suit to be usable.
We've been testing there game HOW long and they STILL want more data on basic guns before making changes?
One words come to mind when someone says it takes them a year before they decide they need more data: Incompetent. |

And having more and more data makes sure their decisions are based on more reliable information so that when they do implement a change, they have something to fall back on rather than "meh, we felt like it"
It'd be amazing if CCP could find a problem, implement the change, and never mess with it again in a matter of hours/days, but thats not the case nor will it ever be a reality for a very very long time, in an alternate dimension where you can magically wish something to happen, and even then things would be imbalanced and broken. Let me get you straight.
The reason CCP never hot fixes is... because the world isn't magical?
Hot fixes doesn't mean perma fixes - it means to tune and adjust in hopes of improvement. CCP instead nerf hammers everything then IGNORES hot fixes unless there's a 30+ page spam on GD QQing about it or the player base for a certain class dies out.
Let me remind you one of the brags CCP makes is that because it's a client game they can make adjustments on the fly - Which we've seen so very little of.
The hot fixes they DO make are absurd too... HMG cries it's useless with MD so let's buff ALL weapons? ....
Why does CCP seem so damn incompetent? |

1) No, I said that things take time to asses and verify what needs to be fixed outside of "ZOMG FIX IT" which is what you seem incapable of understanding, whether intentionally or unintentionally I can't speak to.
2) You seem to think CCP does nothing but twiddle their thumbs. I've talked to CCP staff about threads that went up an hour before speaking to them and they were already aware of that thread, its not farfetch'd to think they were aware of an issue and addressing it internally within the first page of a complaint/bug report going up.
CCP has taken their fair share of flack for their silly mistakes, but they also have a pretty damned good idea of how to make things work. If you want to claim their incompetent thats your prerogative, however I would point you to the fact they've had a very successful MMO game running for 10 years despite their "incompetence" and have grown in subscribers where other "more competent" companies failed at doing so. They've had a year to adjust there data and get where they want, a year is more then enough time to know where you want to be. Nothing you've said counters this.
CCP does do a lot - a lot of things we don't care for. We didn't need new UI's or even a sexier skill tree - we needed core mechanics fixed and basic gameplay stable. What do we get instead on launch build? Almost the exact opposite. As a result every gaming site on the web thinks CCP should of stuck with EVE and Dust is simply "full of potential" that will turn into "Missed there shot" as other games come out.
And Idea's is all CCP seems to have. That and false promises. The working of PC is the only good thing they've done - but then they shat on that too by making it a one node Skirm.
CCP may be competent with space sims - but FPS they seem to lack... let's say common sense. My proof is in the range of your gun that is suppose to be a few thousand years into the future. |
