Having myself never played EVE, i began asking around as to the benefits reaped from FW on EVE and why everyone is so disapointed with the FW we dust bunnies receive. Aparently there are Loyalty points awarded along with a shop where these points are spent to get specific things unattainable elsewhere. Which to me just sounds like megan fox riding a unicorn naked holding a tray of post sex sandwhiches at the ready.
At any rate, we in the dust community cannot recieve a specific seperate store because this game is not eve and we dont really want to repeat the same mechanics do we? We need something we dust bunnies can call our own. Something a little more unique.
To my idea.
I suggest something i like to call the loyalty Gauge. As opposed to loyalty points which are a currency you spend manually, this will be something managed within and by CCP themselves.
It will utilize the current loot system already involved in the game. Handing out loot at the end of combat, based on the percentage of the gauge filled. Rare items for higher percents slightly uncommon for the lower percents.
Basically the idea is when you fight for a faction that factions gauge will raise in percent preferably more for a victory and less for a defeat, but if its the same either way thats fine too. That gauge will fill up gradually and the higher it is the better the special loot you have a chance of receiving. Im suggesting the gauge fill to a maximum of 90%, that way you still have to participate multiple times to keep things interesting.
Now lets say you stray from your faction, regardless if the two are aligned with one another like Gallente and minmatar, you should still lose some of the gauge just not as much if it was from the enemy faction. So if you spent the week to finally get that Minmitar gauge up, then you went to play as the other factions, im thinking the losses should go this way.
Gallente: 5 poit decrease from gauge. As they are allys. Amarr: 25 point reduction they hate each other. Caladari: 15 because they are aligned with the Amarr but not the true enemy.
This gauge should reset monthly or bi-weekly and be a pain in the ass to fill. The loot should, however always be exclusive to that faction. Never something we can buy but always something that is slightly modified or visually different. That way someone can show off their loyalty and reap their rewards.
You could offer different dropsuits with weird visuals, even if its just color wise or the word juicy across my dropsuits ass. Even make a basic assault rifle variant that has more zoom or even .1 higher damge. The possibilities are endless really. It would allow the team to really symbolize the factions unique identities and increase the longevity of the over all game.
Now, even though the gauge is full, that should not mean youre getting super rare exclusive crap at the end of each match, it merely means you have a higher chance of getting better crap. Trust me it will feel much more rewarding.
Items that are merely visually significant should be MLT-STD level to allow ease of equip and to allow people to flaunt their rewards. Unless of course it is visually and stat wise significant. Payout for faction warfare should also be doubled isk wise. Thus lessening the sting of not getting that super cool item.
It would be nice if this was implemented, i know youre looking for things to help the players out so i thought id suggest this. You could also keep adding loot through out the game as well. Just think about it people. |
