Okay PLEASE correct me if I'm absolutely and horribly wrong here, but I think my SP is stupidly low as compared to what it should be.
Back when the beta first came out, I downloaded the game, made this exact account and character, activated the Passive SP, etc. I found that the game was difficult for me to play due to some graphics issues where characters names would be halfway on the other side of the screen, making it hard to tell friend from foe. I also had an issue with the aiming and such, and put the game down for some time.
Well, around July I started getting ready to change jobs, life was hectic, I never got back to the game, etc. and I moved to Abu Dhabi for my new job in November. Fast foward to April of this year and I finally got a TV so that I could hook up my PS3 and Xbox to play some games.
When I got on, I had like, 1.3 million Skillpoints. From what I understand, you're supposed to get like 1 SP every 3-4 seconds without a booster, right? Unless I did my math wrong, shouldn't that put me at around 7-8 million SP (since it's been a year), instead of 1.3 million? Do the accounts deactivate Passive SP gain if the account is inactive for some time?
Or what? Because I'm kinda depressed that I thought my character was gaining SP this whole time that I could finally use when the game got better (Uprising really grabbed my attention at Fanfest) and it turns out I can barely train for basic skills right now. |

Your math is off a bit I suspect but without going over it in detail I will give you the information to figure it out.
Passive SP is 1000SP/hour or 24K/day. Each and everyday which includes the time during shutdowns. Please note that Boosted Passive SP is 36K/day.
Use a date calculator to find the number of days and do the math.
Now, if the numbers are off drastically from that you need to contact support and ask them to fix it. They will bounce you another 1.5M SP. That is what they did for those that got stuck with the bug in game. My understanding was they fixed the bug so it no longer can happen which means you should be ticking over the correct amount.
Good Luck. |

Good Luck. Currently yes, it is working at the proper rate. But assuming 24k SP per day, that's still 8.76 million SP for a whole year (where I had 1.3 million).
An extra 1.5 million wouldn't be bad I guess, I will submit a ticket and we'll see what happens. Thank you for the advice. |

We've had countless character resets since then ... the most recent being early January (if memory serves)
If you haven't activated passive sp on a character since then I would have thought 1.3 mil was over and above what you should have.
Please let us know how your ticket turns out though ... I'm sure we'd all appreciate a years worth of passive if you manage to get it :-) |

But you have to keep in mind the reset that occurred shortly before the Open Beta (4 months ago I believe) so if you estimate 4 weeks/month (16) x 7 days/week (112) x 24,000SP/day = about 2.7 million SP.
With that math, you still seem a bit low, but you shouldn't be anywhere near 7-8 million SP. Also - take into account my numbers are just estimates - I don't recall off hand when the last reset occurred. |

Back when open beta started I remember there being a passive sp bug that was affecting a lot of people. CCP reimbursed them their sp when they submitted a ticket. It sounds like you were affected by this but it has since been fixed. Try submitting a ticket, maybe they will still get you your sp back. |

I wasn't aware of any SP resets, I have just noticed lots of people talking about having 8 million SP and the likes in for tanks, etc. and I was sitting here wondering "How on earth do people have 8 million SP?"
Because for the bit I've been playing the past month I've probably only gotten around 500k SP with active booster and passive booster. I'm not pushing to get the full 8 million SP, I mean I hardly played during that time and such, but the game doesn't operate like EVE where I have to log in every so often to put a skill in to get the SP (which has its pros and cons), so I was blissfully ignorant expecting the number to have inflated quite a bit since the old closed beta.
I'm even fine if CCP says "tough" and I have to keep going from where I'm at. I just feel really restricted SP-wise on what I can and can't do. Money doesn't seem to be an issue at all, but maybe that's because I can't really use anything that's not militia (aside from vehicle chassis', as I'm going to specialize in piloting and tanks) |

I lost about 1.5m SP after Uprising. Interesting that you are missing the same number.
I have petitioned it but no answer yet. |

I have petitioned it but no answer yet. My issue doesn't come with Uprising, as I returned to the game in April. Hopefully the problems will be solved quickly. CCP has lots of game bugs and new features to add and are doubtlessly busy, of course. |

So, according to CCP my character "looks fine on their end" and explained the character reset on January 10th. I pointed out that it's still ~1.5 million SP (126 days * 24,000 SP = ~3 million SP) missing from my account as of that date, and they said that only people who logged in when they fixed in March get the reimbursement.
Which kinda stinks considering I couldn't have logged on before April if I wanted to. Guess I have to make up the difference by abusing the Active Booster as much as I can. |

The last Skill Point was in January 2013, where everyone Skill Points got reset if i'm correct. If you did not log into the game at that time to character, its possible that your character wasn't getting SP possibly or it wasn't activated maybe, i'm not sure there. But if I remember at the time you had to actually log into the game to activate your character getting SP. So if you did not log into the game until april thats not CCP's fault. You just went able to log in and you just got screwed, who you blame is up to you.
So it could be more than likely you didn't start getting SP until the day you logged into character this year maybe. However since you been playing or since you logged in and have been using a Active Booster it only boosts your SP when your actually playing matches on the SP earned. So if you weren't playing much, that Active Booster weren't that useful unless you were indeed playing allot to make it really useful. But thats the best answer i can think of.
If you have issues file a Petition, since your an EVE player you know how to do that and have a GM look into it. |

Also, I only installed the Active Booster 2ish weeks ago. And a passive booster last week. The Active booster has the potential to earn more, provided I get 12,000+ SP out of it per day though. |

There have been at least three complete character resets if not four. Of course, only the last one matters.
On the 8M+ SP you forgot the most important number. Weekly SP Cap for Active SP is 190,400SP/week. Another 85,200SP with via the Active SP Booster. Buy a Merc Pack or two that is two thirty day active boosters and 80K AUR. Spend it wisely and the magic number is very simple to get to. Not cheap per se but easy enough.
Additionally after the SP cap is hit several people I know were making SP in the hundreds of thousands after they hit cap. All those battles with the 50% active booster adds up. In particular if you can cap out in two days. With the right squad you can cap out in a longish day. |

About the 8 million SP thing, I was NOT aware of any SP resets, as stated, so that's why I was wondering how people had 8 million SP if my year old account only had 1.3 million. All of these SP numbers are pretty new to me so there's that as well.
Since I'd heard abou 8+ million SP I decided to search for the SP/day value and try to figure out where my year old account should be, and lo and behold the number was over 8 million. So I thought "Ahhh, there must have been an issue somewhere with my Passive SP gain". I mean, the numbers were just conveniently the same. So I made this thread to see if there had been any problems, and indeed there had been. CCP has stated that there was a problem, I just am too late to the party to fix it.
I now understand where everyone's numbers are coming from, and have some boosters myself to help get my SP up to a higher level. I wasn't trying to say it was impossible to get 8 million SP I was just confused by the high number. |
