"Is your controller worn out" is a good question, OP.
Some other items to consider before I expand on the old controller theme: Do Not Ever plug another controller in while playing DUST. Even if you are only going to charge it. Are you using the Official Sony Wireless Headset? If so, plug in your DS3 with a cable. Seriously. Shut off non essential Blue Tooth accessories close to your PS3.
Back to the main subject:
Dust has a history of not dealing with aging controllers very well.
Do you toss your DS3? Is it old? Do any of the surfaces show wear?
Borrow a friend's (New or at least newer) controller to test.
Look for a sale and consider replacing yours.
If you are technically savvy some problems can be corrected. Search for DS3 controller repairs on YouTube. There is an internal cable that has a really cheesy connection mechanism (the placement of the cable presses against a board, no connector needed) and will need to be cleaned at some point or even repaired.
If none of this seems to apply then you are pressing R3 when you shouldn't be. Relax your grip, grasshopper.
Hope this helps. |

Noticed that if you carry injector with you, there is no "Tap O to rezz" when you stumble on fallen merc... |

Battleground is the best layout IMHO. Sadly, it still isn't good enough. I would LOVE to use the triggers .. well, as triggers. a bumper is not a trigger. It seems to be a european developer thing to use bumpers for the triggers and ignore the clearly labeled trigger button for the trigger. I chalk it up to the lack of guns over there :D

If they can do custom layouts, then can let us pick the buttons. I'm tempted to offer to code it for free because it's so damn annoying not to have it. |

Again. I don't care if this is an aging controller issue, I can use this controller with any other game. It's a "Free to play" game, I shouldn't have to buy a brand new controller.
Custom controls please. I don't want ANYTHING on either stick button. I will gladly sacrifice melee and some other ability to not have to deal with that crap anymore.

If it's not in the game now, it's still worth complaining about. Apparently it's not a priority, and it's BEYOND basic programming. Seriously. I've been able to customize my controls since the 90s. I've been able to write the code to setup up controls since the 90s. |

Battleground control scheme has it's own set of issue. Every "preset" control scheme has issues.
If sensitivity on R3 causes issues, than having "crouch" or "zoom" on it will also screw up your shots. In the case of the battlefield, randomly making your shots lower or cutting your movement speed in the midst of battle is also a horrible idea.
I for one would just get rid of melee entirely and not bind it to anything. It comes up so seldomly for me, it's basically nothing but a handicap in the control scheme.
Battleground also uses a useful trigger slot up with the worthless melee. Praetorian actually puts fire on a trigger, which is nice, but puts weapon switch on the other one. The various schemes that put only actions like grenades, zoom, fire, only on the R1, R2, L1, L2 are probably the best in that respect, but they still have stupid bindings.
It just so happens that every binding puts something stupid and potentially crippling to have activated at random in battle on the R3. Unless it's a southpaw control scheme, then it's switched movement there as well. |
