I've tried to set these orders but for some reason the controls are so sensitive when highlighting the choices they just flash by often selecting nothing useful. I've set mouse sensitivity to lowest possible as well as used Mouse Smoothing, both of which suck in actual firefights I find and had zero luck selecting the Defend order at all.
I'd really like it if I use the scroll wheel on the mouse to select these options when in such a menu. Otherwise with the several mice I have tried they are just too sensitive to select the orders I want. Perhaps maybe even the coding or something is wonky, I dunno. I just never had this issue in the previous build with the same mice. |

Believe me, its not much better on the DS3. Its just an awkward and cumbersome mechanic. |

The squad command on the DS3 has gotten me killed more than it has let me actually issue an order.
The new mechanism is miserable. There are obviously new, undocumented, limitations that make no sense. It would appear that 100 meters is the maximum distance for a command. Others comment about getting "invalid target" but I have yet to see it. My order is simply ignored if the target is too far away.
As Squad play is so very important to DUST it is fascinating that they decided to significantly change its behavior without telling the players. Then to have the new functionality limit the feature to make it barely useful is strange. |

I have to have a ds3 to hand as well, specifcally for using the stupid wheel(Sometimes just to get equipment out too which is usually a suicide). |

Agreed, ever since Uprising the equipment wheel flits around very unsteadily. What's worse is if you are in a vehicle with active hardeners or an repper of any kind landing on the wrong piece of equipment will turn off the equipment prematurely. Unbreaking the equipment / squad orders wheel would be a fantastic feature. |
