Have the market be effected by the players. The prices of items will be effected by the number of them being bought. A item that is really popular will get more expensive. But not by more then 75% of its normal starting price. And Items that dont sell well will drop lower. But not more then 50% of its normal price. This will do two things. It will allow a community to feel like other players are effecting their game and they are effecting others games. And it will allow items that are not very popular to be more affordable. As well as keep over used items from being over used as much. |

See my previous reply to yet another one of your ideas that have been posed many, many times.
Or search for selling assets. |

It just means the more players buy an item. The more expensive it becomes. Less ppl buy an item. The cheaper it gets. |

would this be a bad idea? Guild wars 1 did this if I am not mistaken. Only difference is that there is a cap on how expensive things can get. |

Guild Wars 2 copied Eve Online's economy but failed miserably. In fact, gaming sites rated GW2's economy as the worst model of all while Eve Online's economy is currently rated as the best model there is for an MMO economy.
Dust will have a secondary player-controlled economy modeled directly after Eve Online since that is the game it is currently attached to.
You really need to do some more research dude. There is such a thing as a "search" function. |

PS: In Eve Online, players have so much control over the cost of an item, there are literally no restrictions as to how expensive or cheap an item can be. |

Ah. Missed it. When you mentioned GW and economy in the same sentence, I automatically remembered one article about the developers borrowing Eve's idea of an economy.
The concept is sound as you put it, but the only way to allow the economy to fully flourish is to allow the players unprecedented control over it to the point where competition is fierce and prices can skyrocket to epic heights or drop catastrophically to record lows and yet still be able to recover within the week as players make a mad scramble to either buy in bulk or fire sell in mass to counter the effects. |

Okay I applaud the enthusiasm but you're starting to hog the forum a bit with ideas that are either already discussed, in progress, or obvious evolutions of what we currently have.
This will come. Slowly. Let someone else have the mic, Kanye. |

When we're merged into the established EVE market this will happen. Right now the economisits at CCP (Yes they have their own) need to measure value, how much players are spending and on what. How often it's used and how often it's lost. When we have our own econmy sorted we'll be merged into New Eden and then prices will fluctuate LOTS depending on the region your clone is in.
Empire will be prices close to what we have now, moving up and down in normal EVE fasion. Low sec will be more expensive, varying on who's in control of production in that area, and Null will likely not exist for anyone outside of the Alliance that owns that Space, or will be like in EVE and 2x 3x more expensive than Jita prices.
We're moving into a 10 year old, well established economy soon. Be ready for prices to jump all over the price. Expect proto to almost go up 4x-5x in price as SOON as we merge. |

If its that way then ya. I dont mind it like that and sounds better to be honest. |

I can see a 'Thale' selling for 10,000,000 ISK in the player-controlled market one day. But I also foretell another player selling the same thing for 500,000 ISK in an effort to undercut the original seller. |
