I noticed today that the aiming dot on the Scrambler Rifle moves when you are in ADS and look left or right. It seems that they used the same mechanics as the iron sites for this. Why would anyone design a reflex site that shifts on you?
Is this a glitch or is it supposed to be defective? |

I'm guessing you've never used or held a rifle before?
Long story short, it's not a glitch, nor is the sight defective.
Long story slightly longer, as you swing around, you swing the gun a little bit faster than you move your head / body around - so basically the sight isn't shifting, you're shifting around the sight.
As to why it's in game? Verisimilitude, or the immersion factor. |

I understand this for iron sites as you are changing your angle of view. However, there is no depth to a reflex site, Having the dot move within the reticule makes no sense in your example as the casing for it is not moving either. |

On top of what everyone else said already, holographic red dot sights do this in real too. |

The dot in a CCO will move as you move your head but it will always point at where the bullet will go. That is why they are so much better than iron sights, because you don't need the same sight picture every shot. You just need to have the dot on your target even if it is not in the center of the optic. |

I stand corrected then. I have only used iron sites IRL before. Thanks for the info guys. Never saw that in game before. |

BF3 uses a similar mechanism to make it more fluid. Basically, without this effect, the ADS would be static and plain. |
