I hope you're right. We haven't been able to play on the planets so I may be prematurely disappointed but I get the feeling the matches will be the same as normal matches and corp matches. I guess I was hoping for more.

I guess I was hoping for more. What, were you expecting an RTS mode? lol You have to dig deep and see it for the meta it represents. Because no matter how you slice it, at the core, DUST is always going to be a dude, playing a dude, shooting another dude.

BASSMEANT ZionTCD Unclaimed. 226	Posted - 2013.05.15 16:06:00 - [13] - Quote my guess is that tomorrow will come, there will be some intense drama... then the cooldown kicks in and its back to pubstomping. the cooldown thing is gonna kill it. make it a few hours and you got a shot. 24 hours is gonna spread the matches out so much that you could do some basic math and figure out how many total matches could be played in the next few months (basically up until GTAV decimates the gaming scene for months on end) and that number wouldn't really that high. the cooldown thing if it iruns too long is gonna feel the same as the sp cap. more handholding and training wheels for the codbois while the hardcore players sit around and watch the clock for 24 hours to jump into some match that turns out to be a 10 minute red line. does not bode well. Peace B Atleast what I can decypher from Fanfest, low sec will basically remain this way, and what CCP would like to do for 0.0 is simply open battlegrounds or battles with many of the limitations taken off from the previous game modes. Not a direct quote but thier words were something like 'battles that last as long as you throw people at them.' This is all a step by step process. They want to see how Conquest turns out and how it shapes the community and the game. From there they can make tweeks to thier future plans and implimitations for areas such as 0.0 and even farther expanded metagame. I can say that our group has given Conquest a lot of thought, and not just about the coming battle.

To use Risk as an analogy, we're just played the beginning part where you place your initial set of troops on the board. Not until Thursday does the real game start where people take whole continents, get spread too thin and attacked from multiple fronts. Actually the Risk analogy holds pretty well throughout. I think the game will actually get a bit better once PC heats up. I can see it now, one alliance will get too strong, so maybe multiple alliances will for a truce to take them down. Maybe once they win, the truce will dissolve and they will start fighting amongst themselves. Plenty of drama and fun to come. Also, to whoever was concerned with the 24 hour window, sure you can only play PC once every 24 hours, if you control only 1 district total. But if you have have multiple districts, which are being attacked and you are attacking multiple districts, you could play PC pretty consistently. Especially if you're in an alliance and can lend a helping hand to other corps.
