Almost every MMO I have ever played allows you to pay for a respec whether it is in game money are actual cash. CCP should allow us to pay for a respec whenever we want one they could charge a flat fee of 4000 aurum are 10,000,000 Isk and the isk price doubles every time you respec. for instance ten million isk for the first twenty million for the second forty million for the third and so on and so fourth this is how DCUO does respecs |

Welcome to New Eden. Where this idea of yours has been talked about for three years and still ends up getting torn apart because, well... it's pay-to-win. |

Most MMOs don't have an environment where every decision counts. (Of course, neither does Dust, but who's keep track.)

I disagree that it's pay to win, the SP is already yours and given how the current skill tree is setup at best all you can do it switch suits, weapons, and mods and the cost is exactly the same as if you'd never had switched skill to begin with. So pay to win is a mute point, unless you are saying that the OP will just respec into a OP Caldari Logi suit with a TAC AR, when fine it's pay to win. Otherwise, it's not. The issue is that it goes against the fundamental basis that your decisions have consequences. |

Suppose I dont like what I respec into the second time this allows players to respec their character exactly how they want to and allows the developers to do what they do best develop game content improve gameplay find and fix bugs etc instead of having to reset peoples skill points. And besides I know I am going to want a respec in the future whenever the minmatar heavy comes out

New eden is a fictional setting in a MMORPG and MMORPGFPS. DCUO is a fictional setting in a MMORPG that has a formula for respecing characters that the developers don't have to do anything too which enables the developers to focus on better things like In game content............said as if i was speaking to a small child |

This game is already pay to win up to a certain point until those of us who don't buy boosters get enough SP to compete with those that do. CCP is in the making money business and that would make alot of money. How many of us are on the forums whining about wanting a respec?? They could make alot of money by making money off people's mistakes.
If they charge lets say 10,000 AUR for a respec and limit the times one can purchase this respec on a per year and per character basis. Then it costs $5 to respec. I know I would probably spend money in the future for a respec option and I have currently invested $0 into DUST.
Before the "if they allow this I'll leave DUST forever" crowd comes in QQing, most of you are CCP fanboys and wont leave anyway and the few of you that actually do your monetary donations will be more than offset by the Repec funds.

The universe was built around allowing players to retrain into different skills if they need to, but for a price.
DUST is set in New Eden, which is a brutal universe full of cheats, liars and scam artists. It has a reputation for being harsh to newcomers, and a specific and emphatic core principle that your decisions have lasting impact. The skill system's lack of respec option is a part of this principle. Changing it would violate a large portion of the reason many people appreciate the game universe.
Currently, there is a respec being offered, and we've recently already received a respec. The first respec was due to the new build heavily reworking many aspects of how skills worked. The second (upcoming) one is due to some mistakes in the new skill system, where some skills weren't applying correctly and others had incorrect descriptions, resulting in many players spending SP on skills that didn't provide us with the benefits we trained them for.
If and when a skill is trained, that is a permanent decision with lasting consequences. If you aren't sure, don't do it. |

Thats why the respec is not coming before that redesign is applied. If you're ill prepared for other reasons than the few mislabeled skills, you ought to bare the consequences. Everyone has been warned, even my corp send mails to all mercs calling for caution concerning SP distribution. |

regardless i am still going to want a respec whenever the minmatar heavy comes out since i have to play amar sentinel just as i know a few people who want a respec as soon as racial dropsuits comes out some caldari are forced to chose between minmatar and galente if they want to play scout which isn't right mister high and mighty eve every choice counts guy I dont play eve nor will i ever play eve i play dust which is a different game and most people who play games on PS3 have multiple games they play and most of us don't think about the long term implications of a rpg this is sad but true |

I can assure you that new content will be added with every major expansion to come. Old gear and skills are not invalidated once new stuff comes around. You can just set aside a small portion of your SP and focus on core skills for the time beeing (as you should regardless of the issue).
The difference in efficiency between full and partial proto fits is in the percentiles but is twice as expensive to make that small jump. Keep that difference and you can change your class the day it realeases without sacrifing a smidget of combat efficiency AND be one of the few smart people that maxed all relevant core skills before commiting to classes they end up not liking for a number of possible reasons.
