So the proto gallente scout with 4 complex range amplifiers and all skills maxed out can have a dropsuit scan range of 28 meters...

Still better than other suits and honestly I like the smaller range, it makes stealth and flanking much more viable unless the enemy has a scanner |

Supposedly ALL the suits have 10m, and had 10m since Uprising dropped. There were posts about it last week. And I forgot to check. |

Still crap. 38 meters. You probably calculated the correct 280% increase but forgot that means 380% of the base value.
Anyways yeah, still sucks. I've been pushing for this to get buffed for quite awhile now. |

I hate the argument that they needed to nerf dropsuit scanning to give the active scanner a role on the battlefield. The t1 active scanner has a range of 100 meters and they all go up from there. In the old build, you could passive scan to about 50 m with 1 complex module and maxed skills.
This allowed SCOUTS to actually SCOUT.
The active scanner would still be very useful for actually finding enemies. Passive scanning would just be a counter for flanking.
Think about this. How many scouts do you see on the battlefield? 0-2? So their role would not be ever present. Assault suit scanning was crap, and rightly so. You should be able to flank and sneak up on a line soldier. But a rouge-esq scout? Eff that.
As it is, with the changes to the skills, a assault class can slip through enemy lines unnoticed with just a basic profile dampener. Only rarely would you be discovered by a scout class, and if you have gun game, you could probably kill him before anyone noticed. With passive scanning at a viable level.
In it's current state, you have HEAVIES running amok in the midst of your lines, killing people without anyone noticing. We are fighting blind, because they stole our eyes.
And you're happy about this?
Maybe it's because you play this squad/team based tactical shooter like COD, i.e. a solo run and gun shooter, and don't want a coordinated squad to stop you from being stupid? Yes i think thats it.
Now my poor scout is just another, slightly faster, frontline soldier playing AR514.
