Anyone know if CCP have any plans for this? I know there is a Vita app in the works but my two main issues with that are:
1. I don't own a Vita and don't plan on buying one (I have more than enough gadgets in my life already)
2. Even if I did own a Vita, I couldn't use it at work but my phone I can use (abuse really) as much as I want. |

Was wondering about same thing 
Sony had big plans for Android. Have heard rumors of some kind of PSP or PS Vita like emulator for smartphones or tablets. It was so in the last year or two years ago. So maybe they will let it happen.

But remember they want to sell a product (PS Vita) as many times as possible, so if you make a solution that makes a PS Vita obsolete (to us, DUSTERs ) you shoot your own foot. Unless it will not be free or be subscription based (kind like AUR UVT was some time ago) |

Agreed, they need/want to sell the Vita and having apps for Android and iPhone (not to mention WP8) would not be helpful in that regard. That being said if they have a Vita app and they refuse to create apps for other devices then that will be a major turn off to a lot of players and be seen as a cynical ploy by SOE/CCP to shift some Vita units at the cost of user experience.
Ideally there should be apps for both, let them add functionality to Vita that is not available/possible on iOS/Android like streaming of matches or perhaps even some basic gameplay on Vita (commander role for example or ability to watch your clan battles from the map screen in real time).
Either way, I think we should start a petition to get this in if it's not on the CCP roadmap already. The nature of Dust/EVE makes it a prime candidate for always-online presence via our mobile devices. |

3rd party application is already in development (WarBarge), for iOS/Mac/PC (Windows/ Linux), /Web right now, soon to be on Android.
Theres a stub already at http://www.warbarge.com
Give us some time :)
While it wont provide functionality of companion application like on Vita, but it will be on par with current EVE analogs (EFT, EVEMon etc) |

Some people dont have smartphones, i honestly cant see the point in expensive phones with a 2 hour battery life, i would much prefer my 2002 nokia that will last for weeks and i wont care if it gets stolen

I hope they stay with VITA only for a year or two before moving on to other devices. I know this isn't EVE but they need a mobile app for the neocom way more than DUST. Maybe when the market comes online the need for mobile will increase but for now there is no need for DUST to have one. CREST opens the door for all these fun mobile apps and I am very excited about what is on its way to us in the form of mobile apps. |

As for the App itself its heavily reliant on CREST development to be completed this is something that is probably in closed alpha LONGER than Dust 514 has been in beta. |

I use that for the eve side. I would imagine this could be updated to reflect dust characters as well.\\I hope they bring it to vita, iOS, and android. It is just the right thing to do to serve as much of the player base as they can. I suppose a web version would be the fallback for people who don't have those devices. |

EVE has a lot of fan-made third-party tools that have been created for almost every platform it's reasonable to use (and a few it's NOT reasonable to use). When CREST is actually made public - which will probably happen soon after the Vita app release, if not at the same time - there will be similar apps showing up for the major platforms at least in short order. PC, Android, iOS are all highly likely. There may even be a PSP version sometime. |
