Not all racial weapons, dropsuits, vehicles, rifles, etc are here, and there are are things like energy drainers, webifiers, and cloaking that needs to come, but those things should not be the top priorities for Dust right now. Despite all that is missing, we have a fairly large selection of items already available to play with.
What should be the top priority? Providing different kinds of battles in different environments.
Right now Dust only has 2 real game modes; a generic team-deathmatch (Ambush), and a generic Battlefield-esque point control mode (Skirmish). Everything else is just variations on these two modes. This sucks, its bad for variety, and its just plain unacceptable. I am aware that PVE is coming, along with Skirmish 1.0, as well as some mystery "Conquest" mode (I'm not expecting Conquest to have much depth or complexity), but these need to come sooner rather than later. The game modes we have are so boring, and there are so few of them. PVE especially needs to come soon, its pretty crappy to launch an MMO without PVE; PVE would add the greatest variety because all we have right now is PVP, plus fighting cool flying drones is more interesting than just clones. To sum up this part, we need PVE as soon as possible, and we need Skirmish 1.0 back as soon as possible.
Now about maps. The new battlegrounds released at launch are nice additions, but ultimately do not make you feel like you're in a new area, in fact I wasn't even sure if they were new battlegrounds at all since they look so similar to what we already have. It doesn't feel like we're fighting on a massive variety of planets. Unless you're going to add some really radically awesome battlegrounds like caves and canyons, focus on adding more outposts, more moods, more environment types, do different color versions of each of the sky colors, have night skies with different amounts of moons and different visible nebulae based on the planet's info in the EVE universe. The biggest thing we need when it comes to maps is more outposts. We need more skies, environments, and stuff to make the maps look more varied, but most importantly we need more outposts. If possible add more exotic battlegrounds like canyons. |

I have grown old and bitter from the lack of game mode variety, I wish I could still get into a MAG domination battle. |

We happen to agree 100%. We would argue a game with ties to EVE lore should have the most varied and unique game modes on a console.

Its not even multiple terrains.
Its segments of the the same terrain.
Im really hoping the present terrain and its 6 modular maps sections are placeholders while they get procedural terrain generation sorted. |

Although this game desperately needs new maps and game modes, I think the aim/frame rate /hit detection should be priority 1. |

Agree completely with this thread. Why not make a "forge" mode like Halo has where people can design and submit maps. Assign the entries so each district on each planet of each solar system... etc has its own UNIQUE map.
Also I'm sure the forums could come up with multiple different game modes to put into place. Since CCP isn't known for FPS, I'm sure there are many FPS game modes that have worked well in other games they never even knew about. |
