I been playing this game for a while now, and I have to be completely honest. It does not feel ready for prime time. The idea is fantastic, the concept incredible, the potential is awesome. The skill based concept has potential as well.
But the clipping on random objects makes movement a chore, the aiming on most guns is off, the balance skews heavily to expert players, most guns have way too short range, and to much open space (and people complain about the TAC, HA! it is a Long Range Battlefield and all our guns are built for under 30 meters) I feel like i'm shooting marshmallows most of the time, and then I get lucky and insta-pop someone. Most games I have joined thus far have been either destroying the enemy mercilessly, or getting your ass kicked mercilessly. A good FPS has a reasonable mix between the two, with most games being reasonably average.
I been playing for maybe 3 months now, and while I was ok with it in beta state. I don't mock a beta and try to be constructive. Riddle me this though, this game does not feel ready for prime time. It took me about a month to climb the learning curve and start going positive. After 3 months i'm rocking about a 2.0 KD, and I occasionally top score games. I'm not elite, but i'm a solid player, who has done well in other games.
I am not one who forum gripes much, but i'm not 100% sure the eve formula is exportable.
Don't bother trolling, I ain't got time for no forum debates, and will probably not see this topic again for another 6 weeks. But as much as I want this game to succeed, it does not feel like a finished product, and some reasonably radical departures from the choices they made may be required to make it work for me. |

Guess what?
Planetside 2 has been out for almost 8 months, and has more issues even than the ones you listed.
If that heap of **** can still have players with more issues than Dust, I'm not that worried. |
