Tanks feel much better with today's changes. I'm even starting to get used to not having the powergrid skill. I've had to change up some of my fittings, but...
Now all you need to do, CCP, is give those poor dropship guys a little love. |

please don't say that. Last time everyone said DS needed a buff they got a nerf. And the time before that. And the time before that. And...
Somehow I was foolishly optimistic to assume if and when they fixed every other vehicle in the game we'd gain at least something.
lowered PG, boosted EHP, lowered HP skill, added passive resist skill. = at least net neutral or positive

Especially on the new Domination maps the enforcer railgun sniping tanks have some good hills to wreck havoc from.
While they do need slightly more PG, not much, but they seem well-balanced now for that role. There's no brawling tank, but that's for later I guess.
Had a fun Domination match where the opposing 6-man same-corp squad got so pissed they called in 6-7 dropships and proto-AV fits trying to kill me up on the hill. Let's just say they brought paper to a scissor fight and lost a lot. ;) |

I do but with the added headshot damage I should be able to kill a heavy before overheating. I can do it with MLT AR before reloading why do I need to on a turret that's meant to out DPS hand held weapons. seems like the PG is seriously nerfing the damage I do and take. im not asking for a lot just like 100 more PG. its not cool that to meet the fitting requirement I have to use the lowest lvl gear in terms of requirement in PG/cpu. its like a proto suit can't use anything over standard gear with maxed skills without running out of CPU even with CPU boosters. |

I wouldn't call 10% eHP an over buff, especially when you consider the massive Pg nerf. Net total, it is definitely a loss. |

Here's my issue:
While offensively, we are where we should be and I think all tankers will agree on that, we are still too weak. 2 proto breaches kill us- even tanks can't do that to eachother.
If infantry can fit all of the highest grade modules on their dropsuit, then we should be able to as well. I deserve to be able to fit 3 damage mods with 5 heavy azeotropic shield extenders because those caldari logis can do the same thing. Reduce the PG/CPU cost of ALL vehicle modules and turrets so that we can fit the same amount of proto modules/weapons as our infantry counterparts. It's only fair. When it takes 5 proto AV nades to kill an armor tank, that'd be about square, considering the cost difference between the AV nades and the tank itself.
Or, you could give us back our passive PG skills, except instead of a 5% increase/lvl, give is a 10% increase per level. We'd still be less powerful, comparatively speaking, to the infantry, but it'd be a lot better for us. One forge gun can pin down an entire squad of tanks and that's ridiculous.
Give us PG, CCP! We need A LOT more. |

Eh, I'm disliking how far swarms can hit me from, makes me just want to railgun snipe rather than push with my team.. buts its probably more the fault of my teammates, not covering me from AVers. |

I don't think they're over buffed as an AV guy myself the challenge of killing one is just right it seems, very hard to solo, team work warranted or a lot of surprise and idiocy at the pilot's fault. Tanks are the preferred solo counter to other tank usually and tank on tank combat is pretty decent. |

I think they are right about where they should be right now. When an idiot tank driver drove into a group of people at the end of a match, he got taken out pretty quick. But when he stayed at distance and picked off infantry, he was darn near impossible to kill. It felt like a good balance. |

Hey Iron could you prod CCP into giving us AVers war points for damaging vehicles back ? Because area denial is all well and good but not very profitable . And teaming up to kill tanks yet only the guy who manages to get the kill shot gets rewarded even if others did more damage hardly seems fair. "Don't you just enjoy the satisfaction of helpin your team destroy a tank ? " Yeah but a guy's gotta eat . |

The whole WP system needs to be redone in my honest opinion to reward action, instead of inaction.
As for the missile tank thing, the tank that blew me up was about 15 meters from me and pointing at my radiator, I deserved to get blown up then for letting a tank sneak up on me.
As for today doing pretty horrible, lost 4 tanks, mostly to my idiotic mistakes such as going inside the outpost where there is plenty of infantry cover and people still have hacked AV nades in stock. I was also mostly testing the plasma cannon today the entire weapon is entirely underwhelming for anti-vehicle role, the shot is so slow I had tanks react and dodge them and for such a short range weapon this is very bad. On a plasma cannon fit the AV grenades provides the most damage still.
Also I saw a madruger mopping the map today nobody could get near him and I didnt have a fit to deal with him at the time. He had slight difficulty hitting infantry but for vehicles and structures he blew them all to bits pretty quickly. |
