Mercenaries will use the best weapon for the job and kill whomever it pays the most to kill.
They are businessmen, not idealists.
Our loyalty is to the Almighty ISK. If you want loyalty, be prepared to pay for it. |

Jayquan18 wrote:THANK YOU. I've been saying the same thing. Race and Factions doesn't even apply in this game. In FW if i'm Gallente i can fight for Caldari? WTF? The game is mixed up you see people with different race dropsuits on 1 team. And if i'm Gallente I can pick another races dropsuit? LMFAO then whats the F*** point of having a Faction and Race??? Whats the point of the Story? Same with PC were in the same Alliance fighting each other over planets?? This game is just thrown together without any true thought.
Quit he mercenary business and join your factions army if you want to fight solely for them. |

That makes logical sense, but you would be asking players to pick a suit based on lore before they saw the stats. |

Our loyalty is to the Almighty ISK. If you want loyalty, be prepared to pay for it. While this may be true, when joining a match you dont see a "Corp A will pay X amount of ISK for beating the crap out of Corp B" Therefore, unless we start seeing this happen, then were are not really fighting for money are we? We are blindly shooting other players and wont know what our wage is until the end. In fact, what if a Corp hires you u to fight but only pays 100isk per kill but u didnt know this until the end once you get paid? there is a serious flaw here.
They all pay the same at the moment which is not realistic at all. |

I remember hearing something about it at fanfest. So if that's the case couldn't they make it accessible before even creating a character? Maybe even add in some NPC drones to shoot at or something.
That's asking too much of a new player who downloads the game and wants to jump into a match and shoot someone in the face. They can do that with the starter fits now and wait to skill into a suit many matches later. If you force them to choose early they will quite often pick a suit that doesn't fit their play style. |

Lore wise it makes sense that DUST mercs would lose their connection with a faction if not the entire human race.
Capsuleers wear custom clones and rarely die which allows them to remain connected to their past lives. Mercs on the other hand wear generic clones and jump several times per battle. After several months of that how could you even relate to mortals, much less identify with them?
We are far more likely to identify with each other, despite any internal rivalries. Killing each other isn't personal, it's just business. We are all going back to are MQ at the end of the day, so there is no reason we can't get together for a drink after the battle.
After years of battle and watching empires rise and fall we will feel outside it all. The factions created us to serve their ends, but we have become a new race apart from them with our own agenda. Watch the latest EVE trailer for the warning to mortals that we are rising up as a new superior race. |

There will always be dissenters in any faction, ethnicity, culture or nation. The reason most games or almost all games lock you to a side is it is easier to show everything as black and white instead of realistic shades of gray. So half of the American army plus Half of england army can choose sides with the Russian Army to fight against the American p army and the half of Russia's Army. Doesn't make any sense right? Well, thats how Dust 514 is.
No, the armies don't do that.
But a mercenary force can hire from all nationalities, equip their troops with whatever they want, and hire out to anyone willing to pay enough. |
