Im just wondering with the launch of planetary conquest what are corps major goals and plans. What is the ideal size for a sucessful corp in PC and are any of the big good corps gonna recruit new members? |

Lol I'm asking this as a general outlook on it. I dont expect anyone to provide their actual plan for success.
Will corps have a council to make decisions or will it be entirely to the ceo? Will the corp reward their members with rewards for their contributions? Will corps be hiring mercenaries? Will eve members have a big role and make decisions with corps on dust? Will we see new alliances surface? Will we see corps crumble? Will corps rush to take over as much as possible or will they take their time and use more tactics? |

The core metric for success will be clones lost/produced per downtime.
-Each district will be making 80 to 100 clones per downtime. -You could make an attack with each district each downtime with the possibility of returning with anywhere from 0 to 75 clones from 'stealing'.
If you are only good enough that you lose a little less clones that you make each downtime...you probably aren't making isk from PC, and you'll slowly not be able to compete.
IF you break even in clones you are probably sacrificing a lot of equipment to prevent bigger losses and are still likely losing isk.
Only if you are making clones faster than you are losing them (and really killing enemy clones significantly better than they are killing you) can you break even and go positive in the isk war.
*****This profit model fundamentally changes when we can monetize salvage/loot because right now you get something you can use around 1% of the time. Later, you'll be able to cash it out easier (with some time investment)****** |

More likely if the alliances hold then it'll be the top 3 alliances..Most likely Negative Feedback, Hellstorm and co., and EON. |

My personal opinion is that while having large groups of soldiers in one place isnt necessarily a bad thing smaller co dependent groups can operate across multiple fronts.
Creating buffer zones of districts initially whereby an alliance/ corp can expand into one specific region of space and make it secure would be my ideal goal, and if that can be effectively achieved quickly and with minimal chances of contact between larger groups right off off the bat more the better.

Top corps....meh to had to tell really since they are all such good and organised players.
Alliances though?
EoN and Cronos would be my picks, though ROFL and Negative Feed Back are likely canidates too.
Im more interested in the FSC though. How will they operate, organise, and fare against some potent competition that will be looking at them due to their growing size? |

In the virtual sandbox of the EVE universe all your options are a possibility and will most likely happen one way or another.
The last decade in space however has shown that democratic councils are usually not the most succesfull entities. Yet corporation structures can vary from personal pet projects to benevolent dictatorships or virtual communism, where those who provide their members sufficient content will thrive.
Wether corporation will be hiring mercenaries depends on their leaders, in general this will happen but the ease of this hiring-proces might determine on what scale, since trust is still the most valuable commodity in New Eden.
At least expect a massive landgrab once the first planets become accesible, while some others might be sitting back, watching and planning their initial attack. In time more corporations and alliances will rise and then too dissapear again, as all things do. |

There's no point in splitting into smaller corps from a big corp to do this - a big corp can just stay a single entity and achieve the exact same thing. One big corp can claim multiple districts across the region from day one, so they wouldn't be restricted to all being in the same place. There is literally zero advantage to splitting into smaller corps for the purposes of expansion. |

I think the larger corps who attack and secure districts fast will be more sucessful. When defending you shoukd already be prepared and by having more soilders you have more people available to attack and defend. Whereas a corp with few members wont even have many ppl online to do anything |

Since districts will be one map and wont change other then SI being placed, would not the best move be to field 14 snipers and 2 scouts? Scouts run up, hack nulls with outside visable areas, place remote explosives, run away. Wait for other corp to move in, sniper fest other corp till they give up or move to vehicles. Maybe have 12 snipers, 2 scouts and 2 forgegunners incase vehicles are brought in. |

But you can only ever deploy X number of men in PC and once per day in offensive utility and x number of times in defense utility. Splitting up a large corps of skilled players to take and establish multiple districts as well as run their neighbours out of their districts they can then reform at anytime with essentially a monopoly over a single planet.
Edit- Things is districts as I understand them are only vulnerable for a certain time period a day, when you have lots of districts you need more people ina single corp to hold them all, but when we are starting out capturing districts is the name of the game. Proxy corps of the main alliance can take and hold terrain then lock down eachothers vulneratble hours and syphon through clones and ISK to the main corp. |

Answering in order... Up to the corporation. See above. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Bit of both.
Explaining the first two, there are a lot of corporations in EVE which have a CEO with a few directors. Most of the corps I've been in have had a mining director, a PvE director, and a PvP director. Bear in mind that I've never really been to nullsec, so don't know the structure out there. In essence, they vote on important issues together. Also, some corps run a reward scheme, e.g. for weekly mining ops, they either keep 10% of total ore mined, or some corps give back 10% of total ore mined. The latter corps also gave a ships back scheme, so that if you lost a ship, you'd get some compensation from the corp.
Either way, expect corps to provide some financial support to members. |

Proxy corps of the main alliance can take and hold terrain then lock down eachothers vulneratble hours and syphon through clones and ISK to the main corp. Like I said, you don't need to split up to do this. One big corp can just take an entire planet on it's own. You can field 16 players in every battle and every district can have a battle once a day. Say if your big corp has 6 districts, that's 6 battles for 96 players. You could also send out as many attacks as you like everyday too.
There's no need to split into smaller corps at all. A smaller corp also can not just reform into a larger corp with their land and clones too; they'd have to sacrifice themselves and all the money and clones that they've put into the district(s) they were holding. |

Cronos was a top three before so many of their players left or ragequit or burned out, and now with NF basically joining LoI Cronos is in the top three. Orion was never a factor compared 2 the others, honestly.
