It seems like everyone is a sniper wannabe, which is my guess for the reason of the Gallente population booming. It sucks when I'm one of them walking around to see all the clones in the deployment lobby. I don't think there's anything wrong with a large amount of Gallentes around, but they all look the same and this makes me want to create a new character for the sole purpose of role-playing and individuality (which is why I'm naturally a Gallente.) What are your thoughts on this?

I don't like the super-religious or overly corporate in real life. The freedom and independence vibe is nice. Of course, when I made my character I knew nothing about the EVE universe outside those descriptions at character creation. Uprising changed my starter fits to those... and voila.

Scrambler rifle only does 10% damage less to Armor.

Gallente are the coolest looking, but are the worst Medium Basic/Assault suits of all the races.

If you want individuality of appearance I would suggest you go play Champions or something else with a robust character creator, in a shooter individuality comes from how you play
Or you could offer CCP tons of money to make a super special character model just for you

AUR would be sufficient for simple colors and camos. I'm not looking to go over the top like Champions. But look at EVE. Dust's not a long way off from their character creation. I can wait a bit for it in a couple of future expansions. For now, I can just stand out just a little with a bit of subtly without attracting too much attention for now.

This time next year everyone will be making their new avatar similar to eve's character creation. Worry not children.

Im not worrying, appearance doesnt really matter much in an FPS and even less so when we are all wearing dropsuits

Would be cool that after a certain set of WP's gained, you could fight with the helmet off or at least a Hero'ish looking breathing mask at the increase of taking more headshot damage :p when character models are compltely in Eve style.

Main EVE character is Intaki (Gallente).

We're like the new rebels of New Eden. Our own "empire". I feel more disconnected from the rest of the empires as Intaki.

I also like armor tanking, and I absolutely loved what they did with the medium frame in Uprising. Especially the female one.

I think this is at least one of the major reasons for the Gallente suits. I chose Gallente for the exact same reasons as you and didn't know anything about EVE at the time either. And since I was not able to change my race in Uprising, my free suits are Gallente. I'm not actually sure if I would change given the chance.

I do like the Gallente look though and that's how you see me on the war barge but not in game (most of the time at least).

I dunno but it has been argued that the Caldari are pretty much the poster boys of EVE. Installing the game? See Caldari Flag and the Raven Battleship. Pretty much everything in the lore aspect has been because the Caldari are furious at the Gallente (what else is new?) and the Caldari kinda, sorta being in the right.

Caldari are, I believe still or at least were when I was playing, the most common race in EVE. Back when you had to train Learning Skills (skills that decreased the time it took to learn new skills: yo, dawg...), the Caldari Auchenai had the most favorable starting attributes for doing the 1-2 months needed for getting all the Learning Skills up.

I went with Caldari because I moved from Earth and Beyond (let's see if anyone has heard of it, let alone played it) as a Fighter-type that specialized in Missiles and big hulky manly Shields. The Caldari fit that niche for me.

Realistically, most people would find their way into Gallente as must of us are from the "Western World" and value that whole freedom and liberty thing. That might be why Gallente is abundant.

Or people started DUST having never played EVE and thought the bird was the word.

Because Amarr are evil, Minmatar wants redemption and revenge on the Amarr, Gallentes are the good guys that want peace and care for all, Caldari just wants money and the power that comes with it.

 Again...

 Amarr: The Vatican

Minmatar: Mother nature vs its abusers

 Gallente: Sanctuary

Caldari: Current state of our enconomy

 And one more time...

 Amarr: Bad

 Minmitar: Broken

 Gallente: Good

Caldari: Neutral unless the price is right.

So take all that and you decide which team you want to play on.

And recently they are becoming better at hating the minmatar than the amarr. These guys are just the epitome of goodness.

the gallente may appear good on the surface but their just as bad as everyone else if not worse cause they use "freedom" to hide the oprresion and everyone believes it.

I'm just going by what Dust 514 "race description" is telling us.

Information NOT included in the descriptions within the game is on CCPs hands.

The Gallente are (or were) French.

Seriously. It used to be in the background in EVE, but they took it out.
