I wish G-4 didn't go belly up though. I'm curious what X-Play would have rated the game.

I use to take Gamespot reviews seriously, "years" ago, but then CNET toke over, and they have became a JOKE. Their credibility is nearly ZERO. |

Conquest shouldn't even be in this game right now with all the imbalances and sluggishness. They don't even got all the suits in yet, let alone balanced the weapons properly. Conquest will be a mess of imbalances and FOTM specs, followed by CCP balancing patches (nerf it, hard). Always one step behind. Can't blame them though, being Rookies in the FPS business.
You know who else was a Rookie making FPS ? Valve, and look at them now... |

Yes but Valve managed to put out a game that wasnt broken at its core and they did it without a year of play testing from thousands of people
You obviously didn't play HL when 1st was release...in fact, it only became popular when CS was release. Valve tried something NEW, and most people wanted their old Quake and DooM games... |

Anyway most people I knew loved it before CS for the atmosphere and gameplay, multiplayer just gave the series lasting appeal
Multiplayer based on GAMEPLAY THAT WASNT BROKEN
Actually... HL had multyplayer before CS, it just wasn't very popular... Counter Strike was added later on. |

Actually, HL multiplayer is quite popular. Equivalent to WC3 popularity. It's just that CS is it's DotA equivalent.
No really, I remember trying HL multyplayer, and i went back to FreeSpace 2 immediately. I only tried CS later on, because my friends talk me that was GREAT, and the next big thing. |
