Hello My friends at CCP I have many suggestions that may help improve game-play for those of us interested in piloting ships within this beautiful game we call Dust 514.
Dropships have been my main focus in this game, but the fact of the matter is they are combat ineffective, they lack basic avionics, an early detection radar, and a decent cockpit.
Many a pilot who has mastered the dropship does so by using the first person view but this view is extremely limited because it does not allow us to see around our environment.
I would like to see a dropship with a cockpit kinda like what you showed at fanfest with your new VR space combat sim concept.
What I suggest is that you guys open up the control customization options to allow us to use the right stick for thrust as well as yaw, and allow us to use the L2 and R2 to pan left and right in the cockpit, as these buttons are pressure sensitive and would allow us to see what threats are to our left and right at particular left and right angles. Once we release the lets say the L2 button that makes us look left the camera would snap back to center. |

Or we could plug in USB rudder pedals for Yaw control and free up the right stick for "look" just like in infantry mode. Then we could look up and down as well as right and left and we could do that without auto center if we wanted.
That would leave R2 to call up the module wheel and R1 for firing a pilot controlled turret.
But most of all, we need a wraparound first person view. The view we get is already projected inside our helmet , so there is no reason we can't "see" around us as far as we can turn our heads given that it only requires cameras mounted on the outside of the ship. Let's get rid of the need to be constantly in the immersion destroying third person view. |
