The simple fact of the matter is, this weapon is broken. The AR has plenty of range over most other guns, particularly the hmg (which still has an effective range at about 10 meters) Last I looked, the only difference between an y of the lasers was the heat build up. Out side of that, they were exactly the same.
Essentially, this is an assault rifle game. You still see shotguns and an occasional hmg, but the AR is still really king of this game.
Everyone needs a range buff, outside of the ar and shotgun. The HMG needs an effective rage beyond that of a shotgun. The AR should not be shooting at 2-4 times it's range, other wise, the hmg is usable only in urbanized terrain, as the heavy doesn't have the range or mobility to bring it's dps to bear.
Also, the hmg needs a better rate of turn while firing, otherwise, people can just dance around you while you can't get your gun on them.
last I heard, the mass driver needed a blast area buff as well as more damage, but I don't use those anymore. Don't have the sp to spread out anymore.
Swarm launchers need a serious buff. The only ones that are worth anything are prototypes. Anything less, and the damage is laughable, the range is terrible, and the projectile speed is avoidable. Also, they shouldn't lock on things outside of their range. That's just dumb.
Lastly, something needs to be done with the tar and the people cheating on it. It's very clear that some people are using modded controllers when we get rapid fire bursts out of tars.
I agree that there are quite a number of assault rifles, and I also agree with a slight range increase (which is being addressed by the devs with the addition of a soft range cap). However, your opinions on the Heavy seem counterintuitive to their nature, at least in my opinion. They are not meant to be frontline troops, more, point defense and squad oriented sheer firepower. I do not personally use heavies, but I feel that they should not be nearly as fast to turn as other suits, as they are wearing massive amounts of body armor. In addition, faster turning would make it much more difficult to kill them using Scouts (my personal favorite). Mass drivers appear to be fine, although I am speaking from the experience I have, mostly from being blasted into orbit from them. If I see one, I try to avoid it; it is doing its job of area suppression just fine. As for Tactical ARs, I doubt the majority of their users use modded controllers. Then again, I don't use them. |
