CCP should remove these three categories before 14 May to level the PvP field to make the game more accessible to new players:
- remove all advanced weapons and above;
- remove all shield extenders, armor plates, and damage modifiers;
- remove all militia and prototype dropsuits and vehicles.
A skill progression system that directly skews PvP will turn away new players as well as splitting the playerbase. The game is good as it is without those.
Other benefits:
- from the revenue perspective, having many tiers of the same weapon, dropsuit, or vehicle is not good for selling BPOs as it is more likely they are not the BPOs that players are using.
- more variety of modules will be use on fittings

i would have to disagree. one of the reasons so many come back to dust day after day is to grind to the next weapon or dropsuit or mod. if everyone has got the same gear, same damage, and same hp the game would get very boring real quick. BPOs dont need to be the any higher tier then they are now. once you got 1 you have it forever. if it was say a proto tier then every AUR srcub would have one, meaning great sales for CCP short term, not long term as they would miss out on peeps buyin the usual AUR gear every day. ( would be very good for players bad for ccp).. so thats not going to happen.

This would make it call of duty. The protos give you a challenge and besides there evening out the skill levels for next build so weaker players will play with weaker players, and protos will play with protos you get the idea. :) |

So you want a game with no variety, no progression and no meaning? There are already plenty of game just like that in the market; why exactly do we need another? |

There is no reason for that, if you read the forum you don't have to make stupid post like this one.
Matchmaking GÇô we are working to put live an update to matchmaking on 5/14 that gets new players to play together, and keeps the vets and their proto gear away. For example: Entry to these battles will be limited by total warpoints earned per character and will prevent older players from joining. New players will not be presented with the existing instant battle queues however they can join a squad with veteran players and be pulled into other battles. Expect this change to hit TQ by next week and for more details from CCP Nullarbor you can go here. |

I used to be in my skinweave assault always. A proto can finish it off in a third of the time it can finish off the proto, if not faster. It is not skill or aim, just the suit and weapon tier. PS3 casuals may not stick around for 6 months just to be on par with the protos.
