If your in a rail tank and I get close to you, don't try to shoot me in your tank. You will miss me unless I make a MAJOR mistake. You have a much higher chance to kill me by getting out and shooting me. At least switch to a turret so you have a small chance at hitting me.
Also if your redline sniping, make sure your far into the redline. Otherwise I will simply run in there and destroy you. I can't even tell you how many times I have destroyed redline tankers like this. |

Dear blueberries: this person is wrong. There is a known hierarchy within the HAV community, and all of the top 8 railgun users can kill anyone who decides to run up to their railgun tank at close range. My advice: get good with your railgun and you'll stop using blasters all together. However, until you can shoot a scout running circles around your HAV at 10 meters, your best bet is to press "W"- not "S"! "S" will back you into a proximity explosive. Go straight forward and hope for the best.
As a general rule of thumb, infantry that isn't terrified of your presence is about to kill you. |

Well, I agree that the OP is not particularly good advice. I can and have shot Reds off my tank, within 7m of a Turret Installation and less than that in front of a tank. Getting out of your tank is of dubious value until you are good with your weapon of choice. There is no sense in just giving him your tank which is what he is trying to get you to do.
The tank can scoot up to 50kph and Mercs are nowhere near that fast. Until you get good with your rail gun remembering that is prudent.
Once you have some practice you can tell if you head shot the Red Berries based on their death. If they just vaporize - Head Shot! Also the target efficiency is significantly higher than the default 99%.
Uprising has made the OP's advice better as a significant amount of time the Rail Gun does no damage at all ... on anything. Considering that, getting away from Infantry that is AV equipped is a better idea. Having Gunners with Turret Skills is good as well. |

I would also like to add that since many tankers have sunk a fair amount of SP into said tanks, that thier dropsuit may not be as well equipped to take on someone potentially running full proto. Do not get out of your tank to try and gun him down as often they may be sporting better gear then you, and proceed to steal your tank.
Your tank can move a lot faster then any merc and you can easily create a gap or simply relocate. If you are trying to railgun snipe and someone is that close to you anyways, expect them to be packing AV solutions and get away from them. |

Couple of quick things:
> Don't switch to small turrets. > Don't stop moving. > Betamax is really bad at this game. They do not win corp battles vs decent corps. |

NEVER switch to a side turret. Switching to a side turret is the mating dance of the Blueberry who wants to drive your Tank. You switch to a small turret or get out and someone will be driving your Tank to the prom. |
