We need:
Militia Mass Driver Militia Heavy Machine Gun Militia Laser Rifle Militia Scrambler Rifle (14th) Militia Flaylock Pistol (14th) Militia Plasma Cannon (14th) Militia AV nades (maybe?)
This would allow people to bring in more weapons into combat and we would see less threads of "AR 514" being posted.
If I missed a weapon let me know. I want to see a Militia variant for every weapon.
Standard Militia variant nerf applies (less damage, reduced clip size, severe CPU/PG requirements)
Also I am not saying we need these to be BPOs. For an example, look at the Militia Forge Gun.
What do you guys think? |

It is not necessarily to have them in the Market. Simply having a limited amount of them in the inventory when creating the character would allow some testing before spending some SP to unlock them. That way, you can actually wisely chose your weapon and specialize yourself into it. I wasn't sure about adding it at first but I like your reasoning. :)

Two more things to add: Militia Large Missle Turret Militia Nova Knife What if the grenades are part of an standard fitting. AV nades for the Swarm launcher fitting and Flux for the triage fitting? That would prevent too much exploit since they are bound to the militia suit. Hmmm. That could be a good idea. However it is possible to buy Militia Locus Grenades on the marketplace so I would think it could be balanced out by having Militia AV and Flux grenades available on the marketplace.
For now, I'll leave them up there but I'll ponder the consideration of putting them on the beginner fittings. |

xAckie wrote:people not getting out of militia is causing massive imbalance in the game play as it is.
We shouldnt promote milita weaponry at all except offering people to 'try' the equipment/ weapons to see what they do (and they shoudlnt be very good at what they do
I'm not sure I understand where this massive imbalance is at. Could you explain?
From my dealing of running BPO Militia gear against a well organized team, it is just not worth it if I want to have a good KDR. Therefore, in order to increase my survivability, I have to use upgraded gear with better defenses or increase my offensive capability or a combination of the two. Running with effective squads also helps as well.
However, if I am looking to increase my ISK, the best thing for me to do is run cheap or free gear to turn a profit in Instant Battle matches. This of course will change with PC (on the 14th) with the ability to run higher level gear to protect districts to increase ISK income.
Anyways, adding these Militia items will allow players instant access into giving them an idea of what they want to use. Right now many people are using ARs and I think there would be more of a weapon diversity if we weren't limited to just ARs, Shotguns, Sniper Rifles, Forge Guns, Locus Grenades, Scrambler Pistols and Submachine Guns.
What if more people started running with these other unique weapons instead of resorting to hearsay on the forums? This way it gives new players a chance to try the weapon out in live combat without having to worry about wasting skill points into something that they find out they don't want to use?
Remember these are militia weapons as well. These are intended to be functional, but not crazy killers (eg Militia/Recruit AR has 48 clip instead of 60; or Militia Sniper Rifle with clip of 3 instead a clip of 5; Militia Swarms have clip of 2 instead of 4, etc) or EXTREMELY hard to fit (Scarmbler Pistol, Shotgun, etc). |

Though I believe 2 slots should be the norm for Militia, not 3. Otherwise, why would you downgrade from a Militia 3 equipment slot suit to a normal Caldari Logistics or Amarr Logistics suit with 2? There has to be some incentive to get at least Standard suits. |

The only thing I'm wondering about though is: Militia Nova Knives. We would need to give them stats to make them "Militia" but they have no clip size. Any ideas?
My guess would be a SMALL damage penalty (only a couple of points of damage), and increase the charge time. |

My guess would be a SMALL damage penalty (only a couple of points of damage), and increase the charge time. Maybe if they add running with a charged Nova Knife this could not work for Militia ones. Hmm. That may work but I would hate to take functionality out like that.
For example, let's say you couldn't sprint while holding an AR (bad example, but bear with me).
In a new player mindset, you find that you can't sprint with an AR. Not having enough Skill Points yet, they assume that it's like that for all ARs.
Except it's not. Let's say he finds out watching another AR user sprinting. Or maybe a corpmates or a squadmate tells him. Which concludes is dumb and should be changed, fixed, or at least noted.
Basically, I would hate for this to be a hidden feature. Maybe making a note on the Show Info page letting people know they can't sprint while holding a charge SPECIFICALLY with the Militia Nova Knives but hinting that skilling into them does allow it.
And add a lore reason of course. :) |

I like the ideas that are rolling in but right now I'm on my phone; once I get to a computer I'll update without having my phone browser crashing. Lol
Also, waiting to see what changes they will implement once we get through the downtime tonight. |

Daedric Lothar wrote:We also need Militia Prototype gear! Because everything should be militia!
Every time I think of the word Militia, I think of super heavily armed and extremely well trained and hardened combatants that have access to the best uniforms and weapons and armor.
Look back in history, all the militias carried whatever they wanted into battle. It wasn't what they randomly had available, one of those take it and like it situations. but since no one is voting for choosing a Milita loadout and just getting a totally random fit everytime, Might as well bust out with the best.
I'll let you guys decide is this is a /sarcasm post.
I see the sarcasm, and I also see you didn't read the sentence below it.
Quote:This would allow people to bring in more weapons into combat and we would see less threads of "AR 514" being posted. This is what I originally said but I guess I should expand on it. I believe we should have more Militia variants so new players can try out more weapons. Right now, some of the more exotic weapons require a huge skill point push into a weapon to see if it's a good fit for them. Granted, you can make an alt and try out a new weapon on each alt but you have to put a lot of effort to get to these weapons. (Read: SP & ISK as well as time sink)
Wouldn't it be better to have a militia variant available to see if its even a weapon they want to consider?
And remember, militia nerf applies as well. I'm not asking for militia Prototype. |
